Formed in 2001, Backdraft Racing has made a name for itself as one of the foremost Shelby Cobra replica builders, offering hand-built kit cars with extensive options for personalization. Constructed in 2009, this RT3 Roadster comes finished in Monterey Red over black upholstery and equips a 347ci V8 Stroker engine and 5-speed manual transmission. Showing less than 4k miles on the odometer, this one-owner example is now being offered for auction out of New York while being stored inside a climate-controlled garage.
Backdraft Racing Cobras use a rectangular steel ladder-style frame with a front crush zone and a hand-laid reinforced fiberglass body. This example is finished in Monterey Red bisected by dual silver-painted racing stripes. It rides on silver-finished wheels dressed in new Michelin tires. Details include chrome trim, a vented hood, vented fenders with 427 Backdraft, badging, a driver’s side rollbar, Raydot windscreen-mounted mirrors, and side exhaust pipes. The cabin presents black upholstery. Equipment includes bucket seats, 4-point racing harnesses, side door storage pockets, a three-spoke steering wheel with a Backdraft Racing horn button, and VDO instrumentation.

The seller would like you to know: “I am the original owner of this beautiful Cobra. I only went to car shows with it. It’s never seen rain. Always garage kept in a heated garage. Change the oil twice a year with a factory oil filter. So, you can gauge the amount that I use this. I basically filled up the fuel tank once a year before putting it away for the winter.”

Yes, it’s independent rear suspension. That’s why these cars handle so good. I believe the rear is a 3.46 ratio, but I’m not 100% sure on that.

Yes, it has 4-wheel disc brakes. Backdraft Cobra use BMW E36 suspension, rearend and brakes.
MSD Box has a rev limiter chip in it. The cobra came with a 6500 RPM chip in it.
The seats are upholstered in leather on the front and vinyl on the rear of the seat.

Just a few questions: are the wheels forged, by the Pistons forged, what is the compression as built, what is the curb weight, 4-wheel disc brakes and brand, engine redline, any leather inside?
