Based on a 1977 Ferrari 400 GT, this handmade Ferrari 340 MM Barchetta recreation was built by MC Auto Creations of Texas about 10 years ago featuring custom aluminum bodywork and a 4.3-liter Colombo V12 engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The car is also equipped with six Weber carburetors, four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes, independent suspension, adjustable coilovers, and a quilted tan leather interior. It was acquired by the selling dealer out of Belgium in 2022 and is now being offered for auction in California.

Only 10 Ferrari 340 MM race cars were produced in 1953, including four Vingale Spyder variants with bodywork designed by Giovanni Michelotti. One of these cars was driven to victory in the 1953 Mille Miglia by Giannino Marzotto. This recreation wears custom-fabricated aluminum Vingale Spyder bodywork by MC Auto Creation finished in red with gray lower rockers. Details include a single-piece windshield, a louvered hood with leather straps, triple porthole vents in each fender, cooling ducts behind the rear wheels, a Monza-style fuel cap, and 16” wire wheels with knock-offs and BF Goodrich Long Trail T/A tires. Additional images are provided in the gallery.

The cockpit features quilted tan leather upholstery covering the fixed-back bucket seats, side panels, rear bulkhead, and transmission tunnel. Accessories include a wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, a body-colored dashboard, analog Jaeger gauges, black rubber floor mats, and polished sill plates.

Power comes from a 4.8-liter Tipo F101 Colombo V12 engine with quad camshafts, six Weber 38 DCOE carburetors, twin distributors, an oil cooler, a custom coolant heads tank, and three-into-one headers with quad exhaust outlets. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed manual transmission and stopping power from 400 GT-derived hydraulic disc brakes with four-piston calipers. The independent double-wishbone suspension also features adjustable coilover shock absorbers at each corner.

This sale will include a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “This vehicle runs and drives superbly. The beautiful Ferrari V12 engine sound and roar will give you goosebumps and the feeling you are participating in the 1953 Mille Miglia.”

Those BFG Long Trails are truck tires. They'll last longer than anything else. I'm sure they were chosen to fill up the wheelwells. Car looks great. All Ferrari underneath. Gotta be worth a quarter Mill. GLTA
