Why the XK140?
This sign pays tribute to the spirit of competition, of racing, of many fans of that time in the 50s. At that time you could show up at Le Mans with a car that, with some improvements, allowed you to compete head to head with cars. of a somewhat higher level. This was the case of the only XK140 that competed in Le Mans in 1956. It was disqualified for technical reasons when it was in 11th position (refueling not allowed). He was about to enter the top 10 of the race. For my taste, quite a feat by these two pilots; Robert Walshaw and Peter Bolton.
In my opinion, in this sign, it is a memory and a tribute to this vehicle and its owner.
I hope it is important information for everyone.
Best.
