Up for auction is this 2012 Porsche Cayman R. Introduced in 2011, the Cayman R appealed to track fanatics and driving purists that demanded unadulterated performance. With an all-business interior and unique exterior features, this Cayman stands out from the rest. Weighing in 121lbs lighter than the already lean Cayman S, the R is designed purely for smashing lap times and delivering an electrifying driving experience that is purely Porsche. Given their nature, these cars often see modifications and track use, which is why we are especially proud to offer this museum quality example for auction.
After its European delivery, this Cayman R spent its entire life carefully maintained at the Wilson Collection in Florida. This 18,000 square foot air-conditioned facility has helped maintain this car to stay in the same condition as it was when it was new. Having never seen track use or winter conditions, this Cayman is free of paint chips, scratches and dents. Finished in a pristine coat of Guards Red, this R features a standard aero kit, fixed rear spoiler, and lightweight gloss black 19-inch wheels from the Boxster Spyder. This Cayman R sports a factory Porsche logo graphic along the bottoms of the doors, a nod to Porsche’s historic racing cars.
The interior of this car reflects the same pristine and original condition as the exterior. There are no flaws to be noted throughout the black leather interior. This Cayman R is equipped with a PCM with GPS and Bluetooth as well as the Sound Package Plus. The interior package is finished in a stunning paint-matched Guards Red. This ultra sporty red and black combination is complimented by exclusive lightweight door pulls and Sport Chrono clock.

The factory added exhaust system (a $2810 option) allows the driver to revel in the sound of this car’s naturally aspirated 3.4L flat-six engine. The Cayman R puts out 325bhp and 273 lb-ft of torque, accelerating it from 0-60 in just 4.2 seconds. All services are up to date and were completed by Braman Porsche in West Palm Beach, Florida.

This is a beautiful R. Most, like one that I own, are dedicated track cars, often heavily modified for track use. There are very few low-miles, unmodified R’s as clean as this one out there. If I didn’t already have one I’d be all over this one. GLWTS
