This 1934 Ford Model B Pickup is a modified open-wheel hot rod featuring a Chevy 350 Small Block V8 paired with an automatic transmission. It was acquired by the current owner in 2016 at which time wooden bed railings were installed along with new bomber-style bucket seats, safety lap belts, and a bed-mounted storage barrel containing a toolkit. Benefitting from a host of service items addressed in preparation for sale, this custom Model B hot rod is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Virginia.
This Model B is finished in satin green and black paint and features custom wooden bed railings, a roll bar, and fender deletes for a fully open-wheel configuration. The engine side covers have been removed and the hood is decorated with custom pinstriping and 283 C.I. lettering. The truck rides on staggered-width 15” Bassett wheels finished in black with red pinstripes. These wheels were mounted with a set of new Mickey Thompson about 6 years ago. The seller notes new taillights were also installed in preparation for sale. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin has been stripped out, painted, and fitted with a pair of bomber-style bucket seats covered in black vinyl. Accessories include lap belts, a fire extinguisher, a custom wooden shift handle, a three-spoke steering wheel, manual window cranks, a dash-mounted tachometer (inoperable), and a suite of Classic Instruments gauges. The dashboard and windshield cowl are adorned with signatures from various racing drivers including the following:
Power comes from a dual-carbureted Chevy 350 Small Block V8 paired with an automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Stopping power is handled by front disc brakes and rear drums. Service completed in preparation for sale included a new battery, distributor, and ignition coil as well as disassembly and cleaning of the carburetors. An engine compression test was also performed which showed readings between 155psi and 160psi for all cylinders. The seller adds that the engine would benefit from additional fine-tuning of the carburetor and ignition system.
This sale will include a toolkit and a clean title.

@Alpinist The gas tank sits behind the rear axle, between the frame and is quite big. I would say 10 gallon.
What is the fuel capacity?

@Coley127 I had somebody to take some pictures, I will upload them in a little bit.
If it's possible, any underside pictures of the frame construction would help identify the type and configuration.
@Coley127 This is a good question. It looks to me that they are original, however, I'm not an expert and have no knowledge what happen over the lifetime of this hot rod. It's definitively all steel as far as I can tell.
Are any of the body parts from an original steel cab?
@Alpinist Thank you for the question. The engine has no ECU. It has a coil and the distributor has no point, it's an electronic type, ready to run version with magnetic pickup.
does the engine have any electronic control units, such as an ECM, or is it just good old points, coil and distributor?
