This 1934 Ford Model B pickup truck was recreated as a WWII aircraft-inspired open-wheel hot rod by a father and son over the course of 20 years. It features chopped, channeled, and sectioned steel bodywork, B-29 bomber seats, an aircraft fuel tank, hydraulic brakes, and a custom-built 4.3L H&H flathead V8 engine. The product of countless hours of painstaking handcraftsmanship, this custom hot rod is now being offered for auction out of Arizona.

This chopped-top Model B has been channeled for a lower stance and refinished in a satin Army-style olive green color. It was fitted with a shortened pickup bed featuring an exposed suspension, custom railings, a 10-gallon bomber aircraft fuel tank, and a vintage Cola Cooler ice box. The front grille is decorated with a custom ornament and houses a copper radiator. It rides on green-painted steel wheels with chrome V8 crested hubcaps and Coker tires.

The bare metal cockpit features a pair of canvas-padded aluminum seats derived from a Boeing B-29 Superfortress bomber as well as custom fabricated floorboards and transmission tunnel. Other details include a 1940 Ford dashboard and steering wheel, custom instrument panels, new gauges, drilled window rollers, and a vintage Newspaper box mounted between the seats. The seller states the speedometer is inoperable as no cable is installed, although all other gauges are fully functional.

Power comes from a custom-built, balanced, and blueprinted 4.3L H&H flathead V8 engine featuring triple two-barrel carburetors, Offenhauser heads, a Mallory dual-point ignition system, an electric fuel pump, and a 12-volt alternator concealed within the generator housing. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 3-speed manual transmission. The original suspension has been lowered close to the ground and the car is fitted with hydraulic drum brakes at each corner. The seller indicates a new wiring harness has been installed and the transmission occasionally falls out of second gear.

This sale will include a clean title.
