The MG T-Type is distinguishable by its sweeping bonnet, slanted grille, rounded headlamps, and envelope-style body. This example has undergone a frame-off refinish in red. Details include chrome along the grille, windshield frame, bumpers, over-riders, and fender-mounted mirrors. The 15” knock-off wire wheels are mounted with Centred Metric Radial tires, and a spare wheel with an Essex HP Metric tire is fitted to the rear end. The 1954 MG TF is equipped with a 1,250cc XPAG inline-four featuring twin SU carburetors, sending up to 57.5 HP to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. The seller adds that recent service includes carburetor cleaning, a battery replacement, and tuning to the spark plugs, points, and condenser.

Text still identifies the car as a 1954 -- probably needs edited -- so you don't run into the same problem with a buyer again. Beautiful restoration!

Yes this car was listed last December, the sale did not go through because I post it as a 1954 year (it was my mistake), so the winner did not want close the sale.

@Doc18015 It was very common decades ago for states to Title a car using the year that the car was first sold, new; or by the year of manufacture rather than by some model year designation published by the manufacturer's marketing department. Especially, before the standardized VIN system adopted for cars sold in the US which included the year designation in the the VIN.

It is listed as a 1953 because that is what the title shows when I bought the car.
I tried to change the year to a 1954 through a Title Agency, they did some research and finally it was not possible to change it unfortunately. The car was produced on October 30 to Nov 3 of 1953. The actual Title describes it as a 1953.
Why is it listed as a 1953? The TF was introduced as a new model 1954. The engine should be a TD Mark II , which this does not appear to be.
