This 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster replica was expertly crafted by Vintage Speedsters of Hawaiian Gardens, CA, in 2011 for display at the SEMA Show. Finished in black over matching leather upholstery, it features a 2.3-liter flat-four VW engine with an upgraded camshaft, dual oil coolers, front and rear sway bars, disc brakes, and additional enhancements. Driven approximately 11k miles since the build, this Speedster replica is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Georgia.
Constructed upon a 1971 Volkswagen chassis, the handcrafted fiberglass bodywork comes finished in black with a matching soft top and tonneau cover. Equipment includes chrome trim, a streamlined fender-mounted driver’s side mirror, quad beehive-style taillights, additional decklid vents, gold Porsche badging, and dual exhaust outlets. It rides on vintage Porsche/VW wheels wrapped in Bridgestone tires from 2013. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Inside, the cabin features black leather upholstery covering the bucket seats, door panels, and upper dashboard. Details include a body-color painted dashboard, a banjo steering wheel, green-lettered vintage-style instrumentation, a MOMO shifter, a passenger grab handle, and black carpets. Additionally, a retro-style radio with a 600W sound system has been installed.
Power comes from an air-cooled, high-compressed 2.3-liter Volkswagen flat-four engine featuring an upgraded camshaft. As much as 160 HP is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. Performance features include dual oil coolers, front & rear sway bars, and 4-wheel disc brakes. No outstanding maintenance items have been reported.

Sweet looking car with a lot of potential. I advise whoever buys it to research the advisability of putting an anti-sway bar on a swing axle chassis.

Thanks for all the comments and bids thus far. To address a few questions....
Tin was removed, not sure why, but new tin is on order and will come with the car.
This car originally was built "high performance" specs including a turbo that has been removed, which is what the filter was for. Car was originally in warm dry Arizona weather, and with the turbo it did not run as good in cool / less dry weather in Europe. Consequently turbo was removed.
The surface corrosion is simply due to shipping (two trips across the ocean), Last owner brought the car to Belgium and France for touring and was recently shipped back in a container to the USA. Salty Air, no flood! Corrosion is surface only and will clean right up.
This is a fun and fast car to drive!

Maybe someone can chime in on this one, but my understanding is the beehive taillights ended with model year 1956 and '57 was the first year of the teardrops
