Built by Vintage Speedsters in 2016 based on a 1972 Volkswagen chassis, this 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster replica is powered by a 1,915cc engine with dual carburetors and a high-ratio 4-speed manual transmission. It is finished in Ivory over a Cognac brown interior and features a soft top and removable side curtains, period-correct German-style gauges, a banjo-style steering wheel, Porsche-crested hubcaps, front disc brakes, and interior USB charging ports. Purchased by the seller in 2019 and refinished in two-stage paint, this Speedster replica is now being offered for auction with under 4k kilometers (less than 2,500 miles) showing on the odometer.

The replica fiberglass bodywork was refinished in two-stage Ivory paint under current ownership in 2020 and features a brown convertible top and tonneau cover, body-colored bumpers, chrome trim, and a polished driver’s side mirror. The car also includes removable side curtain windows, a Reutter fender badge, leather hood straps, mesh headlamp grilles, and body-colored 15” steel wheels with chrome Porsche-crested hubcaps and Nankang CX-668 tires (4716). The seller adds that the paint remains in excellent overall condition and is protected by a 10-year ceramic coating. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin is lined with brown square weave carpeting and features Cognac upholstery covering the low-back bucket seats, dashboard, door panels, and rear shelf. Accessories include a three-spoke banjo-style steering wheel, period-correct German-style gauges, drilled billet aluminum pedal, lap belts, a short-throw shifter, a 12-volt power outlet, and USB charging ports. The seller notes a small dent on the chrome bezel of the tachometer and that the rubber gasket is missing behind the gauge. A light is out behind the speedometer gauge and the directional stalk does not automatically return upon completing a turn.

Power comes from an air-cooled 1,915cc flat-four engine with 110 cams and twin 44mm carburetors. The rear wheels are driven through a 4-speed Freeway Flyer manual transmission with 3.88 gears and stopping power comes from disc brakes up front and drums in the rear.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a car cover, a framed schematic photo, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my 1957 Porsche Speedster Replica. My wife and I are car enthusiasts and have owned this vehicle since October of 2019 and it has been babied and garage-kept since then. The car was repainted with a 2-stage paint in early 2020 right after purchasing it. When we purchased it, it only had about 500 miles on and have only put about 1500 miles on it since. We absolutely love the car, but we cannot put a child car seat in it. We want someone to be able to enjoy every moment of this car as we have enjoyed it! Good luck to everyone bidding!”

@BestCAR yes, engine has about 110hp, it’s quick with the light weight body. Makes it fun to drive!

  • BestCAR (registered bidder) 1 week, 1 dayago

Hi - cool Speedster. Any idea how many Horsepower the engine has?

  • Aghabra (seller) 1 week, 3 daysago

Just to mention as well, that this body is made of fiberglass as all the replicas are.

  • Aghabra (seller) 1 week, 3 daysago

I have seen a few not many in person and I can tell you and promise anyone, this vehicle is almost near perfect. You will never find a “perfect” car. We are very “picky” when it comes to what we own, and I am confident in what we own and what you see. I have many car enthusiast friends, and they would back me up on this car on how it drives and the condition of this car. I promise the person who receives this vehicle that they are getting quality.

  • Aghabra (seller) 1 week, 3 daysago

@RandR also the car was not repainted right after it was built, it was repainted after we purchased it in 2019. We repainted in 2020, the car was built in 2016.

  • Aghabra (seller) 1 week, 3 daysago

@928GTS The photos were taken on a wide angle lens, that is why it looks like that, now there is some negative camber because how the wheels are tucked in and low. Reference photo 126.

  • Aghabra (seller) 1 week, 3 daysago

@RandR yes, we saw some imperfections in the doors where there were some cracks (looked like from previous owner slamming door. So all that has been fixed and we decided to completely repaint and with a 2 stage paint. We wanted it done right. I am very particular.

  • RandR (registered bidder) 1 week, 3 daysago

Can you please explain why it needed to be repainted so soon after being built? Thank you.

  • 928GTS (registered bidder) 1 week, 3 daysago

    @928GTS ref photos 116 and 119

  • 928GTS (registered bidder) 1 week, 3 daysago

Looks like something is wrong with the rear suspension. Way too much negative camber.

  • Aghabra (seller) 1 week, 3 daysago

Welcome everyone! If you have any question feel free to ask!
