Available for auction is this 1958 Porsche 356A Speedster replica by Thunder Ranch of El Cajon, California. Built on a steel tubular frame and powered by an air-cooled 1915cc flat-four engine, this Speedster features handcrafted fiberglass bodywork in the style of a classic Porsche 356A Speedster. This example is said to have been built in 2009 before it was acquired by the second and current owner in May of 2019. This nicely executed Speedster replica is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Pennsylvania with just over 4,500 miles showing on the odometer.
This Speedster is finished in Polar Silver with a black manually operated soft top and tonneau cover. Thunder Ranch replicas feature hand-laid fiberglass construction, sealed trunk and engine compartments, and a full tubular powder-coated frame. The seller notes some minor pitting on the chrome mirrors and air vents, detailed images are provided in the gallery. This Speedster rides on a set of 5.5” x 15” Mangel wheels with chrome hubcaps and Falken tires.
Inside, the cabin has been upholstered in Red Wine leatherette with matching red carpets. Features include a pair of bucket seats, a wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel, a matching wood shift knob, a set of black and red Coco mats, and an upgraded Alpine radio with door speakers. The seller reports all gauges and accessories to be working properly.
The air-cooled 1915cc flat-four engine is said to have been tuned by SCAT Enterprises for a claimed output of 110 HP. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 3:88 Freeway Flyer 4-speed manual transaxle. The engine comes equipped with twin weber Carburetors and Thunder Ranch’s exclusive 911-style fan shroud. Stopping power is handled by a front disc, rear drum brake setup. The seller adds that regular oil and filter services have been carried out during their ownership.
This sale will include a clean title for a 1976 Volkswagen. With its classic styling and thrilling open-top driving experience, this Speedster replica is just waiting for a new owner to get behind the wheel and enjoy.

The paint and tires are original to the vehicle. The tires have good tread with no signs of dry rot. The paint finish is very good and shines nicely. There is an area inside the drivers door by the upper hinge / door gap that has been lightly sanded which appears to have been done to increase door gap or possible rubbing, it is not visible from the exterior or interior and presents no problem. There are no chips or scratches otherwise noticeable. I am not aware of any mechanical issues, the engine runs strong and has plenty of power, recent oil change . Took it to a car show two days ago, first time out since covid a year and a half ago, as always gets a lot of attention. It's a nice car and needs to be driven.
Is all paint original from 2009? Any chips or scratches to note?

Hi, I'm selling my Porsche 356 Replica which I had planned to enjoy while spending the winter months in Florida. It is a fun vehicle and gathers a lot of attention where ever driven. Due to physical limitations, I have not been able to use this Porsche as intended and it has spent to much time in my climate controlled garage, and is time to let it go to someone that can drive and have some fun with this car. This car runs great and has plenty of power. Any questions, I will be glad to answer to the best of my knowledge. I hope to find a good home for this 356.
