This 356A Speedster replica wears a beautifully patinaed finish over its fiberglass bodywork and derives power from an air-cooled 1,996cc flat-four engine. Titled in the state of Texas as a 1959 Porsche, this Speedster is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Virginia.
The replica fiberglass bodywork sports weathered black paint along with chrome trim, dual mirrors, and Porsche Speedster badging. The car rides on 15” steel wheels with chrome hubcaps, detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Inside, this Speedster is lined with red carpeting and matching vinyl upholstery on the bucket seats, door panels, and dashboard. Accessories include a wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel and a suite of analog Porsche gauges.
The rear wheels are driven through a 4-speed manual gearbox paired with an air-cooled 1,996cc flat-four engine. The odometer reads approximately 27k miles and the seller describes the car to be in good running and driving condition.

Great job/buy @beaver307. I will regret not pushing higher... the "patina" held folks back I think, but this can probably be refinished and refreshed for less than market value.

@Bondtrader Yes the car has basically been all redone it’s just made to look like that, it’s supposed to have that patina look
@Bondtrader I was thinking that the builder had the exterior done with intentional patina, which I think is pretty cool, and maybe just went with a cleaner interior. either way I am sure its fun to cruise in
Curiously, the interior looks brand new in opposition to the contrived black exterior. Also, the seats look like what you would get in a current replica from Vintage or Becks.

@Somer No not exactly sure it seems to be just about brand new or fully rebuilt, it runs really really strong and pulls hard,

@Vintage80 I am not sure, I think it is a tube frame, it rides very nice, you can do 85 on Highway with a smooth ride, The temperature gage is finicky sometimes it comes on and sometimes it doesn’t, when it seems to warm up it starts to work more regularly but as soon as you start it up it will come on and off

@TitanStorage I am not sure I took a picture of behind the wheel to try to give you a better idea of what the brakes are, I think it’s disc brakes I’m not sure, brakes work good

@garyhart You are correct, based on the "hibachi" style engine griil (single bar across center rather than 3 bars) the car is either a CMC (Classic Motor Carriages) kit or a FiberFab kit.
@prmnorton1 I uploaded the engine number and some additional engine pics and some pictures of underneath the car as well and I tried to take a picture of behind the wheel hopefully that I’ll give you an idea of the brakes, I will get a driving a video as soon as it stops raining ty

@Flyman615 Yeah I’m just not entirely sure I’m not a mechanic I just love to drive these cars, you do have to press the brakes kind of hard to stop it it’s not like an easy braking system
@prmnorton1 I'm sure the brakes are likely hydraulic, not mechanical. All drums as opposed to disc brakes in front?

@Flyman615 The car has no convertible top or side curtains or cover it has older mechanical brakes and I could not find a chassis number but I’ll look again, if you have a suggestion on where I should look please let me know, and they are 5 Bolt, thanks

hi how’s everybody doing this is a beautiful 1956 Porsche speedster replica the car is actually titled as a 1959 Porsche we believe it was made in the 1990s the car runs and great drives great it does look exactly like an original real 356 you would not know the difference, the body is fiber glass and was made to look as if it did have a beautiful patina but don’t let the look fool you it does run and drive great, we do not know who the original manufacture is we could not find any labels or plaques on the car it’s simply titled as a 1959 Porsche, it is a clean clear title so if you’re in a state where you have to have smog check you can avoid all smog checks with this vehicle and you can also register car as an antique vehicle, Mechanically the car really needs nothing, we did a oil change and new battery, it has a older classic air cooled motor, it does have a classic pushbutton start as a lot of the older original Porsche is did, The tires look to be several years old so will probably need to be replaced eventually, we purchased a car from we believe to be the second owner in Texas and it’s been in Texas all of his life, no rust or any other issues, overall very cool good running car
