Just one year after producing its first sports car, Porsche partnered with Allgaier in 1949 to design and manufacture tractors before launching its own tractor brand in 1956, Porsche-Diesel Motorenbau GmbH. This 1961 example is a Porsche-Diesel Standard 217 tractor, one of the most versatile tractors offered by Porsche with a 1,374cc twin-cylinder diesel engine and hydraulic accessory units. It started life on a farm in Germany and was previously registered in the Netherlands where it was restored by a collector about 10 years ago. Imported to the U.S. in 2024, this historic Porsche-Diesel tractor is now being offered for auction out of Pennsylvania.
This tractor has been refinished in its original red paint color (3002) with a contrasting light-yellow color for the wheels and sprung steel driver’s seat. Equipment includes a black three-spoke steering wheel, a VDO hour meter, headlights, taillights, rear half fenders, an exhaust stack with a rain cap, a hydraulic rear hitch, and a power takeoff shaft. The seller notes that the tractor has not been used for farm work since the restoration and the next owner may wish to replace the rear tires for cosmetic purposes.
The air-cooled 1,374cc twin-cylinder diesel engine is paired with a Getrag 5-speed manual transmission sending up to 25 HP to the wheels through a rear portal axle. The seller states the tractor starts up promptly once the glow plugs are warmed and it runs strong with a smooth idle.
This tractor is offered with a bill of sale, import documents, a customs declaration, and a copy of the European registration allowing it to be titled and registered by the next owner.

@Matteman thanks for your question. Yes I just checked in one video I took when driving - working. I have had quite a few tractors in the past and this is one of the strongest drivers I ever had. It starts very nicely and smoothly idles at low rpm as well. Shifts and breaks well. No quirky sounds.
