The Porsche Diesel Tractor 217 was created as a compact and adaptable agricultural vehicle, marking Porsche's brief venture into manufacturing diesel-powered farming equipment in the mid-20th century. This 1961 Porsche Diesel Tractor 217 Standard, often referred to as the Porsche Standard 217, is said to have been the subject of a complete frame-off restoration completed in Europe by a dedicated Porsche tractor specialist. This historic tractor is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
This tractor comes finished in its traditional shade of red contrasted with a cream-beige driver’s seat, front grille, and matching steel wheels. Details include black-finished dual headlamps, a matching three-spoke steering wheel, polished model designations, and painted “Porsche Diesel” lettering on the rear seat. The Standard 217 offers a two-cylinder diesel engine that shares its heads & bores with the Porsche Junior. As much as 25 HP is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission and rear portal axles. A full mechanical restoration is said to have been carried out and there are no outstanding maintenance items reported.
