Up for auction is this 1962 Porsche-Diesel Junior 109 tractor.  This 1962 example was purchased new by a small family farm in Germany and is said to have been used sparingly throughout the years while spending most of its life stored under an overhang on the farm.  It was eventually purchased from a local tractor shop in 2008 before being imported to the U.S. in 2019 when it was purchased by the current owner. Having undergone a recent engine rebuild along with other noteworthy refurbishments, this beautifully presented Junior 109 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey.

Nicknamed “the bull” for its distinctive bullnose-shaped hood, this 109 sports a traditional red exterior finish, an optional sickle bar mower, wood-bottom fender benches, and a roll-over bar. The factory wheels have been recently refurbished, powder-coated, and dressed in new tires.  The headlights feature rare factory stone guards and have been completely restored with new lenses, rebuilt frames, and fresh powder coating.

This 109 is equipped with an air-cooled 875cc single-cylinder diesel engine which sends up to 15 HP to the rear wheels through a dual-range four-speed manual transmission. Upon the current owner’s purchase, over $5k was invested in an engine rebuild including freshly machined heads, upgraded valves, new valve springs, a new glow plug, rebuilt injector, seals, gaskets, and a complete new wiring harness.  The steering box was also refurbished, and a detailed list of new parts installed is provided for reference in the photo gallery.

This sale will include Porsche-Diesel operating manuals, lapel pins, a set of two keys, an electrical handbook, a sealed coffee table book, and a certificate of authenticity.  No Porsche collection is complete without a diesel tractor, do not miss your opportunity to own this well-sorted 1962 Junior 109.

@diehlbad Thank you for your question. From what I was told when I had the engine work completed by Porsche-Diesel, was that they never seen a 109 as complete as this with these "options". The sickle bar, roll bar, 3 point hitch/drawbar were all OEM. Matter of fact, Porsche-Diesel even remarked about the original green painted PTO shaft on the rear of the tractor! Sorry I didn't take a photo of this to share. The side benches I was told where not OEM, but I must admit add a nice touch. OEM would have been just two curved grab bars, one each fender which are available today if you would want to switch them out.

All these items were on the tractor when I purchased it. The sickle bar operates as it should and the hydraulic arm to raise and lower it is an nice upgrade vs. the spring/lever units you usually see. The sickle bar can also be unbolted very easily if you choose to do so.

Hope this answers your question. Happy bidding- Good Luck!

Hello, please excuse my ignorance and lack of knowledge, but are the wooden bottom benches, rollover bar, sickle bar mower, and draw bar on back hitch OEM/factory items, or aftermarket? Thank you.

    Welcome all,
I hope you enjoy viewing my Porsche 109 Junior tractor as much as I have enjoyed owning it! It is a true iconic piece of Porsche history from the pass and will be treasure for many years to come. Many of my friends have viewed the tractor as an "art piece" more so than a tractor! However you look at it, it is an amazing piece of machinery and even better, its a Porsche! It's not often that a 109Junior in this condition passes an auction block; much rarer than the 108 Junior counterparts. It is truly a solid tractor all the around and one you won't be disappointed in.
Please let me know if you have questions that I may answer. Good luck on your bidding!!!
