Among the most desirable classic Corvettes of all, the 1963 Split-Window Coupe (SWC) marked the introduction of Chevrolet’s second-generation Corvette sports car and was the first to be offered as a coupe. This particular example is finished in Riverside Red over black vinyl upholstery and is said to be restored under previous ownership including the installation of a period-correct restoration engine. Built on April 30th, 1963, this Corvette was originally delivered to Thatcher & Son Chevrolet of Redding, California, and remains on the West Coast where it is now being offered for auction.

This Corvette was ordered in Riverside Red (923) and refinished in its factory original color under previous ownership. Exterior equipment includes split bumpers, a split rear window, cast rocker-panel trim, flip-up headlights, a chrome driver’s side mirror, hood and fender vents, and dual exhaust tips. Detailed images showing the vehicle’s condition are provided in the gallery. The 15” turbine-style knockoff wheels are mounted with Falken whitewall tires.

The cabin features dual bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl with matching door panels, dashboard, and carpeting. Amenities include a vertically mounted AC Delco AM/FM radio, an analog clock, rubber floor mats, roll-up windows, a locking glove compartment, a three-spoke Corvette-branded steering wheel and lap belts for passenger and driver.

The C2 Corvette is powered by a 327ci V8 rated at 340 HP and 352 lb.-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a 4-speed Muncie manual transmission and Positraction rear limited-slip differential. The seller reports the engine pad has been restamped, and features the sequence 114056 with an RE suffix identifying it as a period-correct replacement L76 327ci V8 for manual transmission cars. The original VIN tag remains, identifying it as a true 1963 SWC, and extensive documentation of the full restoration is said to accompany the sale.

This sale will include a clean title.
