Available for auction is this 1965 Pontiac LeMans Convertible finished in blue over a parchment interior. This 1965 example was acquired by the seller in 2008 and subsequently treated to a frame-off restoration in 2019 including new paint and an upgraded drivetrain from a 1970 GTO. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Louisiana having covered less than 500 miles since its restoration.
The seller reports that the entire car was refinished during the restoration and all chrome trim and badges were either polished or replated. A small scratch has been noted on the driver’s side near the trunk; detailed images can be found in the gallery. Features include dual side mirrors, GTO badging, chrome bumpers, chrome exhaust splitters, and chrome dressed in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in parchment vinyl with matching door panels and contrasting carpets. Amenities include a three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel, a power antenna, hand-crank side windows, and a full-length center console. The seller confirms that all gauges, electronics, and accessories are functional.
The drivetrain was sourced from a 1970 Pontiac GTO and includes a 400ci V8 driving the rear wheels by way of a 3-speed Turbo-Hydramatic transmission. The rear end was also derived from a 1970 GTO. As part of the GTO package, the Tempest received stiffer springs, larger sway bars, and heavy-duty shocks.
This sale will include a spare tire and a clean title.

@DocHawk yes, to my knowledge everything has been changed to reflect a GTO. The builder was Terry Grow, a GTO expert, unfortunately Terry passed away about 2 years ago, otherwise I would have included everything that he did. I have over 100K into this car and everything was done right. I can take pictures of the undercarriage when I return ho w but that won’t be until Sunday as we are on vacation with the grandkids.

@Moose0523 Thank you for the reply, and for changing the auction title and description to reflect the actual car. It's a lovely GTO tribute car and I have bid on it. Unfortunately your answer does still leave some ambiguity so I ask again, specifically: have the GTO swaybars, shocks and springs been swapped into this car?

Please help me understand; this ad says it is a titled GTO, but the text mentions swapping/upgrading to GTO parts and badging... so, is this a Tempest/Lemans that was restomodded into a GTO clone? Also no mention of what suspension is actually on the car - did you swap in the stiffer springs and swaybars from a GTO as well? Thanks, I'd like to understand what we're bidding on.

@pcarmarket As the owner of a real 1965 GTO; the title of this ad is misleading and incorrect; it would be wise to correct; a slippery slope of mislabeled and marketed items here would not be good. Beautiful car; but label it what it is...a Pontiac GTO hot-rod. ;-)

Whoever did the build did a very nice job; but unfortunately it's not a GTO. A big part of buying a classic muscle car is its future investment potential; but, regardless of how nice this car looks, it's still a Lemans.

no doc. 10 bolt rear end , it has a black top not blue , custom color but i have formula . it was a lemans , but all parts were changed to GTO PARTS ALSO TILTED A GTO
Do you have Pontiac Historical Society docs to show it's a factory GTO; not a clone? What rear end is in the car (10 or 12 bolt? ratio?). Original color? BTW, great looking car. Thanks.
