This 1966 Porsche 911 was acquired by the seller approximately 13 years ago from a long-term owner out of Utah. According to the seller, the car is a very early production 1966 model that was built in 1965. This historic 911 is an ideal candidate for a complete restoration and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Wyoming.
The earliest Porsche 911s are short-wheelbase models featuring chrome bumpers and trim. This Coupe was reportedly originally finished in Polo Red and was refinished in yellow at some point during its life. Significant patina is noted throughout the bodywork and the seller states the example appears to have no signs of serious accidents. It rides on a set of 15” steel wheels mounted with older mismatched tires. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
Inside, this 911 is upholstered in black leatherette which is in need of refurbishment along with the headliner, carpets, and all interior panels. The seller notes that some gauges, knobs, and switchgear are missing. The car reportedly came factory-optioned with a Webasto heater.
The seller notes that the engine is currently disassembled and a 5-speed manual gearbox remains. The non-numbers matching dissasembled engine will be included with the sale
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: "Great starting point for a full restoration or hot rod build. Very early 66 model year produced in 1965."
