Available for auction is this 1967 Imperial Crown Coupe finished in Turbine Bronze Metallic over a Black leather interior. The Imperial name was reserved for Chrysler’s top-tier products until 1954 when the name was used for a separate luxury brand intended to compete with Lincoln and Cadillac. One of approximately 3,200 Crown Coupes produced for the model year, this 1967 example is said to have remained with its original owner until 2015. It features a 440ci “Wedge” V8 paired with a TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission, a vinyl landau roof, air conditioning, power accessories, and more. This Crown Coupe is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Washington.
The 1967 model year saw completely restyled bodywork laid over a new unibody platform. This example comes finished in Turbine Bronze Metallic with a black vinyl landau roof. Equipment includes vertical chrome tailfins, a single-piece taillight, and a distinctive rear “boss” covering the fuel filler cap. It rides on a set of 15″ steel wheels fitted with Imperial-branded turbine covers and whitewall tires. The seller notes that the car was refinished in its original color at some point under previous ownership and remains very well presented apart from a small area where the driver’s fender meets the hood. The cabin features front bucket and rear bench seating upholstered in black leather with matching door panels and carpets. Amenities include walnut wood trim, air conditioning, power windows, mirrors, antenna, “Auto-Pilot” cruise control, and an AM/FM radio with a foot-operated tuning switch. The seller confirms all gauges and accessories remain functional.
Power comes from a Chrysler RB 440ci V8 big block engine shared with the Dodge Charger, Super Bee, and Plymouth Road Runner. The rear wheels are driven by way of a TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission. All Imperials came equipped as standard with power steering and brakes. The seller reports the most recent service included all new belts, hoses, and fluids.

@bellaghia Tires were acquired in 2015 and have approx 1,000 miles on them.

@bellaghia The door jams under hood and deck lid were not refinished. I may be able to dig up a couple of photos. I'll try to get a more clear photo of the trunk for you before auctions end. Thanks
Were the door jambs, underhand motor compartment and inside trunk repainted? in photo15 the door looks darker as do the inside fenders to. IN photo #27 under the gun sight emblem what appears to be orange peel is not present in person? These question are necessary long distance as I am sure you understand. Is there a date code on the tires, thanks so much.
I think my last reply may have come across wrong, hard to say in these "forums". Having been a previous Concours Judge, I was taught by one of the very best that "the better a car is, the easier it is to find something wrong". The flaws in this remarkable car are few, given its age and "unrestored" condition (paint noted) the overall condition of this 55 year old car is truly exceptional, rarely will we find cars this original in today's world. The car, its original leather and original carpeting show years of fastidious care.
Also, no one will ever pull up next to you in the same car ..... gotta love that :) Happy bidding.... neat car !

@bellaghia actually , there is very little orange peal though I would agree the reflection in the paint makes it look so. We arent exactly certain when the car recieved its repaint, sometime priot to 2015. As we all know, paint work was not performed to the level of perfection that we see being done today. Yes, the wood vaneer is a bit warped and not uncommon for a car of this vintage. I don't believe it would be too difficult finding someone who could replicate that small piece. Old cars are generally not perfect. :)
Couple of questions; The amount of orange peel on photos #28 and #40 is quite pronounced what can you tell me about the paint job and prep? It is a large car.
What happened to the wood on the drivers inside door panel? I imagine a replacement would have to me fabricated.

@cascadia sure, to me it looks as though the paint prep wasn't perfect. Take a look at picture #67 and expand the photo, it was simply poorly finished which is odd as the rest of the work was done remarkably well. NO leaks.
Great looking car. I tried to find a photo that shows the paint flaw where the fender meets the hood but couldn't see it. Could you describe it in more detail or add a photo?

@dooscoop32 Yes, the miles are correct at 116,000. The car was a one owner car from 1967 to 2015. I too was never much of a Mopar fan until a good friend introduced me to their older model cars. Imperial was a brand unto itself then and the cars were FAR better imo than anything fro GM or Ford (read Cadillac, Lincoln) I own a 1974 cadillac sedan deville, it is 7 years newer than this Imperial and yet this car is FAR more luxurious and much better appointed than the Caddy... and I mean by miles. Fantastic car, truly. I am the personal opinion that these land yachts are the next big collector cars. REmember that in the 90's the government "cash for clunkers" program was crushing these big cars, most are gone. Well taken care of examples are becoming more and more difficult to find and are commanding good money. Get in while you can .....
This is a magnificent motorcar in such a stately yet elegant color. I would guess we are to assume it has 116k miles since there is no documentation to support otherwise.
I've never been much of a Mopar fan but they did have some great examples of cars through the years. And this would be one of them.

Every now and again something truly exceptional comes along.... What a "Grand Dame"! This car simply stops people. They were rarely seen when new as only about 3,000 were produced. Today... never. Everything on this car functions as designed inclusive of the cars AC system... its bloody cold ! Inspections are welcomed. Happy bidding.
