Produced from 1966 to 1973 with a Ferrari-designed V6 engine, the Fiat Dino was used by Enzo Ferrari as a means to homologate his Dino V6 engine for Formula 2 racing. This 1967 example is one of 1,163 Pininfarina-designed Spiders produced in total and comes finished in British Racing Green over a tan interior. The car spent time in Washington before it was purchased by an owner in Norway who had the car restored during the early 1990s. This Dino was eventually acquired by the most recent owner in 2014 and has been regularly driven, maintained, and enjoyed in San Jose ever since. Previously sold on PCARMARKET, this rare Fiat Dino is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California once again as the initial buyer failed to complete the transaction due in no part to the car's condition or representation.

The Fiat Dino was originally introduced as a two-seater Spider at the 1966 Turin Motor Show. It featured coachwork designed by Filippo Sapino at Pininfarina with an all-steel unibody and an aluminum trunk lid. This 1967 example is said to have been refinished in its original British Racing Green color during a restoration in Norway during the 1990s and is said to have been fitted with a new tan canvas convertible top featuring a correct zip-out rear window under recent ownership. The seller notes that the car’s original convertible top frame is in excellent working order and the chassis is free of rust. The paint is described to be well presented with just a few small road chips and stress cracks at the seams. The car is factory-equipped with silver 14” Cromodora knock-off wheels shared with the Ferrari Dino 206 GT. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin is lined with tan carpeting and features matching vinyl upholstery covering the dashboard, door panels, seats, and center console. Accessories include a black-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, aluminum Pininfarina-branded dashboard trim, a black leather Fiat-branded gear knob, manual window rollers, heater and defroster vents, Veglia Borletti instrument dials, a locking glovebox, and an aftermarket Sony stereo. The seller describes the interior to be highly original and well preserved with all gauges and accessories working properly.

Designed by Ferrari and named in honor of Enzo’s late son, the V6 Dino engine was built by Fiat using an all-aluminum 2.0-liter V6 with quad chain-driven overhead camshafts, a Magneti Marelli Dinoplex ignition system, triple Weber downdraft carburetors, and a unique 65° angle between the cylinder banks. The front-engine Dino uses the same engine used in the mid-engine Ferrari Dino 206 GT sports car and was rated at 160 HP and 120 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual transmission. The chassis includes a rigid axle with leaf springs and four shock absorbers as well as four-wheel disc brakes. The seller indicates the car underwent consistent routine service under the care of its owner and the engine, gearbox, braking, and cooling systems are in good working order.

This sale will include some documentation, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Owned and enjoyed by a local San Jose Doctor since his purchase from Hunting Ridge Motors, Mount Kisco NY in 2014. Serviced and driven regularly maintaining its integrity and performance. The history prior to his acquisition was that it was totally restored in the early 1990s by owner Kjell Inge of Hansen Kristianland, Norway, who acquired the car from Marshall Woodford of Port Orchard Washington. The Spider 2.0 is extremely rare as only 1,163 were produced. This car maintains a completely rust-free chassis, the original extremely well-preserved dashboard and interior. The original convertible top frame is in perfect working order and a newer canvas top with the correct zipper rear window has been installed during the Doctor's ownership. Original engine and gearbox drive and shift flawlessly as well as all the braking and cooling systems. The original British Racing Green color was repainted during its 1990s restoration and shows beautifully with just a few small road chips and stress cracks at the seams. Truly a piece of automotive art created again by the master Pininfarina. A joy to drive and enjoy an appreciating rare classic.”

To further clarify if you have read the add in it’s entirety. No we acquired the car car from it’s former owner a few months ago due to his health issues. And again all services as needed have been done. It’s quite obvious if you have viewed the videos and have read the description.

  • Dsabo21 (registered bidder) 7 months, 2 weeksago

To clarify, you have had the car since 2014 and there hasn't been any engine work (timing chain, etc) done under your ownership?

  • jedd (seller) 7 months, 2 weeksago

Again to all bidders. This is a rust free chassis. Please read and view the info

  • jedd (seller) 7 months, 2 weeksago

The last service was in 2022 for an oil change. After that the prior owner developed health issues and we purchased the car from him. We welcome the buyer to have a PPI done after purchase as the car is ias described and as seen in the videos.
    Thank You all

The Dino has been serviced and cared for as required over the years. The Dino has a timing chain not a belt if that’s what your referring to and all mechanical components are in proper and fine working order. The last services were done at Roselli’s Forgien car repair in San Jose.

  • Dsabo21 (registered bidder) 7 months, 2 weeksago

When was the last time the engine had a full service including belt replacement, etc. Can you post any of the service records?
