Up for auction is this custom 1967 Porsche 911 Coupe finished in Aetna Blue. The result of over 4,000 hours of painstaking work, this 1967 example has been transformed into the one-of-a-kind 911 LWB widebody we see today by restoration expert Brad Baldwin of Los Angeles. It features a custom Camel basketweave leather interior, flared fenders, a front mounted Carrera oil cooler, high-performance exhaust system, long wheelbase Carrera suspension, upgraded lighting, and a 3.4L twin-plug flat-six engine paired with a 5-speed 915 manual transmission. Recently featured at Monterey Car Week in California, this custom 911 is now being offered for auction with under 100 miles traveled since the completion of the restoration.
This 911 was stripped to bare metal and refinished in Aetna Blue, a rare classic Porsche color originally offered on the 356 models of the early 1960s. All the original metal bodywork is said to have been retained including the bumpers, and wide steel fender flares were added along with a center fuel filler in the hood and a custom 1972-style external oil filler on the right rear quarter panel. Other additions include modern LED projector headlights, Hella driving lights, silver Porsche side graphics, and custom deep dish 15” Fuchs wheels finished in silver and dressed in Pirelli P7 tires. 12-year SunTek ceramic infused premium self-healing paint protection film has been installed along with 11.5 mil protection film on the rear quarter flares.
The cabin has been completely redone with new Camel basketweave leather upholstery and Oatmeal square weave carpeting. The center dashboard and instrument surround are painted in Aetna Blue along with the backs of the bucket seats. A performance aluminum shifter was also added as well as an upgraded electric air conditioning and heating system.
Power comes from a custom-built 3.4L flat-six engine with twin-plug ignition, 50 PMO triple carburetors, and a high-performance exhaust system. The rear wheels are driven through a rebuilt 5-speed 915 manual gearbox. The custom side oil filler tank connects to hard oil lines through the rockers leading to a Carrera front oil cooler. A long wheelbase suspension setup has been installed as well. The seller confirms that less than 100 miles have been driven since the rebuilds of the engine and gearbox.

That is my question. What is the conversion? Did you use a LWB chassis or “ pan”? If so, I hope it would be one of the later years that were galvanized coared at the factory.
I have a couple very well known Porsche Specials and Outlaws. This car hits it out of the park! Again great taste.

Per your request, the 1967 911 Custom LWB Widebody HR is powered by a 3.2L Carrera engine built to a 3.4L (Est. 350hp, providing an excellent power to weight ratio for this Est. 2,200lb Porsche). The engine details are: Mahle motorsport 10.3/1 compression 98mm Piston, cylinder and rings, Web cam Grind # 171e/149i, standard crank, standard rods balanced to a 1/10th gram, balanced pistons 1/10th gram, standard head studs, standard oil pump, 50 PMO's (set up by Richard at PMO for this build), and a custom-built, high performance exhaust system.

Beautifully done 911. Saw it at PB Concours Village. Know it's a "work of art" when my wife sees it and says "ok, you can get THAT car!" . She's also told me I can empty my garage and order a Singer! I saw this car in dowtown Carmel on Tuesday at Concourse on the Avenue and what a beautiful build. The attention to detail is amazing! You really have to look the car over to see the subtle things that have been done to the car. Good luck with the sale and I am sure it will ring the bell.
@550bryan I'm 6'1"/210 and the seats are as comfortable as any we have experienced in this style seat; they offer more leg-room, and are adjustable unlike some similar style seats (FWIW, while displaying the car at Pebble Beach, a larger individual loved the cockpit fit, feel & ergonomics).
