Up for auction is this 1967 Porsche 911 RSR-style street-legal custom from the esteemed Wilson Collection of South Florida. This 1967 example is said to have been acquired by the collection during the mid-1990s and was subsequently converted to a purpose-built racecar for use at VIR and Palm Beach International.  It features a custom built 2.5L engine, twin-plug ignition, MoTeC engine management, a 964-spec G50 manual gearbox, and other performance upgrades.  After its racing campaign, the process was started to convert this example back to a street-going RSR-inspired 911.  Currently in the midst of its conversion, this 911 is just waiting for its next owner to complete the final steps of assembly.  It is now being offered for auction accompanied by a collection of parts, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean title.

This 911 has been fitted with fiberglass RSR-style body panels including the wide fenders, bumpers, a ducktail rear spoiler, and center-fill hood with tie-downs.  The car has been finished in period-correct Canary Yellow with contrasting green Carrera graphics. Braid BZ 16” Fuchs-style wheels are dressed in BF Goodrich G Force Sport tires showing date codes from 2017/2018. An additional set of modified multi-piece Fuchs wheels will also accompany the sale along with exterior trim and window panels. It should be noted that the glass and windows are not fitted to the vehicle at this time.

The cabin has been partially stripped-out and made race-ready with the addition of a steel multi-point roll cage, fire suppression system, a MOMO Prototipo racing steering wheel, RS-style bucket seats, and a Blind Apex lap timer.

This 1967 example is fitted with a type-911/91 1973-dated magnesium flat-six motor built to 2.5L specifications, paired with a 964-derived G50 5-speed manual gearbox. Upgrades include a twin-plug ignition system and MoTeC M84 engine management. This 911 also sports 917-replica RSR brake calipers, a front strut brace, Fox coil-overs, an Elephant Racing adjustable multi-link rear suspension setup, 935-style front control arms, upgraded sway bars, and an aluminum fuel cell.

This sale of this 911 will include an assortment of parts, an extra set of modified Fuchs wheels, racing logbooks, the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean South Carolina title.  An exciting and well-equipped RSR-style build that can be enjoyed both on and off the track, this custom 911 offers a very special opportunity.

Hello everyone, I have uploaded two more videos of the engine. The knocking noise is in fact there however it is completely harmless. The first iteration G50 transmissions were known for having a knocking noises in idle rpms due to their hardmounts. In time, they developed a fix to quiet the noise down. Again it is completely harmless, and if you at look one of the videos I posted you can see that as I disengage the cluth, the noise disappears.

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the bids so far! To give you all a better understanding of this car's condition I want to explain a few things.
This 911T was purchased by Mr. Wilson in the mid 90's. It didn't sit in his collection for long before he built it into a race car. Over the years he proceeded to race it, making changes along the way. Recently within the last year he decided he wanted to convert it to a street. He did not intend on bringing it back to its original condition, he simply wanted to make the car street legal. The car still has fiberglass quarter panel sections, as well as the fiberglass fenders, hood, decklid, and doors. The car is extremely light believe me I know because I push every car in his collection around when organizing.
The components that are coming with the car like the carpet, back window and seats, etc. will be enough to make the car "streetable", a very fast streetable car. That said the car is not far from being put back on the track either because the intention was to put in the bare minimum to make it "streetable."

@scuderia The paper work shown is a SUMMARY of expenses over the years. We have three binders full of receipts to back it up. Also you should keep in mind this car has been modified and changed often since it was initially built. Obviously the total amount summarized doesn’t reflect the value of the components currently installed because parts on the summary have been removed and replaced more then once. It’s a race car ?

  • WilsonCollection (seller) 2 years, 12 monthsago

@twickes40 Thanks. Some of the items that were spread out on the floor in the photos we’re stored in the car when the video was made and we’re rattling while the car was running

  • scuderia (registered bidder) 2 years, 12 monthsago

are the prices on the receipts in pesos?
make oil pump $10,000? Shop supplies $5000? Hard to take this serious with a bill like that. How much was the engine knock?

  • twickes40 (registered bidder) 2 years, 12 monthsago
