This 1967 Volkswagen Type II Deluxe Microbus recently received an upgraded 2110cc engine, a full steering system and suspension rebuild, and has received a concurs-level restoration under previous ownership. The 1967 model year is said to be one of the most desirable among VW Bus enthusiasts, because it was the only year where it received the split front window and a factory 12-volt electrical system. Finished in two-tone white and red over a white vinyl interior, this 11-window Deluxe Microbus was acquired by the seller in 2020, and received a full inspection, an oil service, a valve adjustment, replacement of the accelerator pedal, a rebuild of the steering box, new front spindles and arms, a new center link, new trailing arm bushings, and more, at a cost of over $7600. Showing just over 2700 miles on the odometer since the restoration and having traveled only a few miles since the engine was replaced, this 1967 Type II Deluxe is now being offered at auction by the seller based out of California.

The exterior of this Type II is finished in two-tone red and white with chrome trim, and was said to have been restored at a high level of quality by the previous owner. Equipment includes 11 windows, front and rear white bumpers with overriders, a split-window hinged front windscreen, passenger-side barn door-style doors for entry, and rear engine cooling vents. Chrome-finished 16” Porsche Fuchs wheels are mounted with Yokohama Avid Ascend GT tires with date codes from 2020.

The interior is upholstered in white vinyl and features two front bucket seats and two rear bench seats. Matching patterned fabric covers the door panels, dashboard storage area, and front seat bulkheads, with perforated fabric spanning the headliner and upper passenger area and gray carpeting throughout. Amenities include lap belts, quarter vent windows, passenger grab handles, roll-up windows, a VDO speedometer, and an AM radio.

The original engine has been replaced with a 2110cc engine, which is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission that routes power to the rear wheels. Stopping power is derived from front disc brakes and rear drums. Upon the seller's acquisition, this Type II Deluxe received a full inspection, an oil service, a valve adjustment, replacement of the accelerator pedal, a rebuild of the steering box, new front spindles and arms, a new center link, new trailing arm bushings, a new shifter plate, a transmission strap, new tie rod ends, and replacement torsion arms.

This sale will include a clean title and associated service documents.

@Porsche415 This runs and drives great down the freeway. It can 100% handle the freeway speeds and hills of the 101 freeway. The tow-in or camber you see is only because the car is on the lift. The alignment is correct. You will be very surprised at how well this thing runs. It has plenty of power.

beautiful rebuid. That's some tow-in on the rear wheels. I'm in Northridge, can it handel 70+ mph and take those hills on the 101. It will be a beutiful drive and It will save shipping charges. I don't need to see an engine running video. Thx

@BlueFarm Everything on this bus is freshly restored and in excellent condition. The engine and transmission are freshly rebuilt and have very few miles on them. It runs and drives perfectly and is very powerful. I do not know the original color combo. All of the weather seals are new. Everything is in working order.

  • Jimbo1907 (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Beautiful bus! I am too old for these now, but recall them fondly.

  • justinbsc (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@Emerson.elc The car is registered and titled in CA under the owners name.

  • Manpot 1 year, 8 monthsago

"Rollup windows".?.no they slide open on splits and the 12 volt system was introduced in 1966..that's what I have on my 66 registered in 67.This looks like a nice bus....but I'm never sure about the longevity of an engine with a big bore kit over 1776cc..This won sell cheap not should it..

  • Emerson.elc (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

    Hi Seller
