The first-generation Chevrolet Camaro has become famed for its striking design, potent performance options, and cultural significance within the golden age of American muscle cars. This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Coupe underwent extensive cosmetic and mechanical restorations in 2010 along with several modifications. It features a heavily upgraded 605ci big block V8 said to produce nearly 1,000 HP. Refinished in Viper Red over a matching interior, this Camaro was acquired by the current owner in 2012 and has since been stored inside a climate-controlled garage. Reportedly driven approximately 300 miles since the restoration, it is now being offered for auction by its seller on dealer consignment out of Missouri.

This Camaro has been refinished in Viper Red with white racing stripes. Details include concealed headlights behind vacuum-operated doors, a cowl-induction fiberglass hood, a rear spoiler, Camaro SS and 605 badging, extensive chrome trim, and chrome front & rear bumpers. Black-finished Wilwood brakes can be seen behind a set of polished Weld Racing wheels mounted with 12”-wide Mickey Thompson rear tires. The seller adds that this example is a former drag car and has not been raced since the restoration.

The cabin is appointed with red leather and vinyl upholstery. A pair of Kirkey Racing bucket seats have been fitted along with 5-point racing harnesses and an NHRA-approved roll cage including removable sidebars. An aluminum steering column with a tilting custom steering wheel framed Auto Meter white-faced instrumentation. Various gauges are also fitted to the center console while a “Chevy 605” badge decorates the dashboard. The rear seat has been replaced with a Sony 1000-watt stereo system with 12” subwoofers. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.

This Camaro has been equipped with a heavily modified 605ci big block V8 engine featuring an iron block, aluminum heads, a forged crank, Jesel roller lifters, and Holley direct-port fuel injection installed by 417 Motorsports. Reportedly Dyno-tested at just under 1,000 HP, power is sent to the rear wheels through a GM TH400 automatic transmission with a narrowed rear end, and a custom Dana 60 spool with a 4.11:1 gear ratio. Additional equipment also includes Strange Engineering custom axles, an aluminum drive shaft, a serpentine billet belt & pulley system, ladder & wheelie bar attachments, electric exhaust cutouts, power steering, 4-wheel disc brakes, and a 16-gallon fuel cell. -The seller adds that a binder with extensive service documentation will accompany the sale.

This sale will include a clean title and extensive documentation.

The seller would like you to know: “The current owner purchased this car in 2012 and it has lived a very pampered life in their climate-controlled collection. They have only driven it to the occasional car show, probably not more than 300 miles in total. This is a resto-mod to the extreme! It has not been raced since the extensive restoration, but I was told it was a consistent 9-second ¼ mile car. It is built to the max and it's streetable requiring only 93-octane fuel. The Car has won many trophies. I have a 2" thick Binder full of receipts for what's been done and who did the work. As the owner is getting older, they believe it is time to thin the herd and let someone else have the opportunity to love this awesome machine and show it off!”
