We are pleased to offer this custom 1969 Porsche 912 Carrera RS Tribute finished in Irish Green over a black leatherette interior.  Beginning with a short wheelbase non-sunroof Porsche 912, this example was transformed into an RS-style tribute with flared fenders, RS-style bumpers, side graphics, a ducktail rear spoiler, and a rebuilt 2.4L flat-six engine.  Having recently undergone a pre-purchase inspection and compression test from an authorized Porsche dealer in preparation for sale, this 912 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Utah.

This 912 is said to have been refinished in its original shade of Irish Green under previous ownership along with the installation of new rubber seals.  Among the most desirable of classic Porsche colors, Irish Green has been in use since 1964 and was even chosen as the shade for the one-millionth 911 produced in 2017.  Steel rear fender flares were also equipped along with RS-style bumpers, a classic ducktail spoiler, and contrasting black Carrera RS side graphics.  Some cosmetic imperfections are noted throughout the exterior, additional images are provided in the photo gallery. This tribute rides on a set of 15” Fuchs sized 7” wide in the front and 8” wide rear.  They are currently dressed in a set of Cooper CS5 Ultra Touring tires.

Inside, the cabin has been redone with RS-style door panels, new carpeting, a new dashboard, and reupholstered black leatherette seats sourced from a 1969 911S.  Other features include a Momo Prototipo Heritage steering wheel and black carpet floormats with green Porsche lettering.  A recent pre-purchase inspection found the horn, speedometer, odometer, and windshield washers to be inoperable.

The original 356-derived four-cylinder engine in this 912 has been swapped out in favor of a more powerful 2.4L dual-carbureted flat-six sourced from a U.S.-market 1973 Porsche 911T.   The engine and carburetors are said to have been rebuilt within the last 8k-miles.  The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed 915 manual gearbox.  An aftermarket exhaust has also been installed along with a front-mounted oil cooler, Bilstein shock absorbers, a thru-body front sway bar, and 911S front brakes.  The results from a recent compression test are posted in the photo gallery along with the notes from the pre-purchase inspection.

This sale will include a spare tire and a clear title.  Offering the iconic styling of the Carrera RS coupled with upgraded performance, this Irish Green tribute is a perfect choice for any air-cooled driving enthusiast.

@RyanH - Thanks for the question. I reached out to the Porsche Lehi tech that completed the compression test and here's the response -

The compression test was done with the engine cold.  With the engine being warm those numbers would be higher.  The main factor to consider is consistency between cylinders.  We weren’t concerned with the lower psi numbers due to how well the car runs and performs.

Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to get the SA's contact info

Those compression numbers seem really low, shouldn't they be in the low 100s for a 73 engine?

Also an observation as the car was on a lift today, the transmission is dry with no leak but there is some oil leaking from the valve covers.

@Manpot - good point, that makes sense. Thank you! Seems like you have a great collection :)

  • Manpot 2 years, 11 monthsago

    Probably a 68 sold and titled in 1969. I have a 1956 A registered as a 57...but it really is a 56 . Seems to happen a lot.Lovely car you have there..

  • Guchon (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

@Manpot - good to know. I went with 1969 based on the title for this vehicle.

Very nice car but if this is really a 1969 it should be a long wheelbase car..the last short wheelbase was 1968..(we have one).

@kellin Hello, we will have under carriage pics taken today and submitted to PCar. Standby.

@adoptapet - Great Question. Let me check in on timelines to get the speedo/odometer resolved. I work with Hollywood Speedometer in Los Angeles but I need to remove the odometer, send it to them have it fixed and returned. I wasn’t able to get it done in time for this auction but will check on their availability. As far as windshield washer/horn go, I will definitely have those taken care of.

  • adoptapet (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

Are you going to fix the speedometer, odometer, wish washers and horn before the auction or commit to fixing these items before delivery. Thank you.

  • RayAbbas05 2 years, 11 monthsago

Wow! absolutely beautiful machine, very rare and the color is super gorgeous!

  • Guchon (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

@imadginca Just noticed the PPI results aren't uploaded, i'll get that taken care of.

  • imadginca (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

Great seller !! Been through to the shop and seen the build, the car looks even more amazing in person. Guchon guys were awesome and a pleasure to do business with.

This is a rust free, very tastefully modded RS tribute.

Note - a PPI was completed at Porsche Lehi which included compression tests (results in the gallery).

Feel free to ask any questions or use the ‘Contact Seller’ option to reach out directly. Locals are welcome to come see it in person.

Lastly, I am happy to provide any additional information, pics, or videos! Good luck and happy bidding!
