The 1969 model year marked the final year of the original Porsche 912 which also moved to the new long-wheelbase platform along with the 911. This example comes finished in Bahama Yellow and is said to have been part of a private Porsche collection for many years. Having undergone a major recent service and compression test, this 912 Coupe is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.

This 912 is finished in the iconic late-1960s Porsche color of Bahama Yellow (6805) and features a 911S-style front spoiler, chrome trim and headlight rings, a polished driver's side mirror, black horn grilles, pop-out rear quarter windows, an anodized gold rear emblem, chrome rear bumperettes with black rubber overriders, and an aftermarket exhaust with quad tailpipes. It rides on a set of 15” Fuchs wheels dressed in older Pirelli Response tires. The seller notes that some areas of the car have been refinished and the original paint remains in the door jambs. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin of this 912 is lined with charcoal carpeting and is upholstered in black leatherette with basketweave pattern inserts on the seats, dashboard, and door panels. Accessories include a black four-spoke steering wheel, manual window cranks, door storage pockets, a heater, a locking glovebox, seat headrests, three-point front seatbelts, rear lap belts, and a Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio. The seller describes the interior to be in very good original condition with all gauges and accessories working properly.

Power comes from an air-cooled and carbureted 1,600cc flat-four engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. The seller states a major recent service was completed including carburetor adjustments, new belts, filters, oil, brake fluid, and a compression test which yielded good results across all cylinders.

This sale will include a toolkit, a spare tire, some documentation, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “This is one of the best examples of the 912 and is the last year. It runs and drives beautifully.”

Does the "Reserve" disappear after the reserve has been met?

  • SportsCarCompany (seller) 5 months, 4 weeksago

This 1969 Porsche 912 came out of a collection that had been owned by a collector for many years. It is a very nice example with a very nice body, cannot see any previous damage, and the car runs and drives very nicely. We had our service inspect the car; we changed all the fluids engine, transaxle, flushed out the brakes and changed the fluid drain and cleaned the gas tank put all new filter belts. We did a full tune with new plugs points adjust carbs. car is ready to drive anywhere!

  • SportsCarCompany (seller) 5 months, 4 weeksago

@dakrei This 1969 Porsche has ZERO RUST if you look at picture 112 you will see the pan is perfect also no leaks from the engine.
    Good luck with the auction.

  • SportsCarCompany (seller) 6 monthsago

@Somer @Somer, that's where paint has chipped off over the last 60 years, but it is a very original rust-free car.

  • SportsCarCompany (seller) 6 monthsago

@Bruce914 @Bruce914, it is the original engine. We missed they said "an" instead of "the", but it is the original engine.

  • Somer (registered bidder) 6 monthsago

In picture # 79, is that rust inside the trunk lip ?

  • Bruce914 (registered bidder) 6 monthsago

so power comes from AN air cooled 1600, not the original 1600? Otherwise good looking car.
