Launched in 1969 as an enhanced iteration of the initial GT6 model, the Triumph GT6+ Mk II featured refined aesthetics, redesigned rear suspension, and a more powerful 2.0-liter inline-six Vitesse engine. This inaugural year example comes refinished in yellow over black upholstery and has been fitted with K&N air filters along with a Monza exhaust system. This iconic British sports car is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.

Sporting a fastback coupe design, this GT6+ has been resprayed in a striking shade of yellow differentiating from its factory-specified off-white finish. Details include a louvered hood with vents, polished front bumpers and rear bumperettes, bullet-style mirrors, pop-out rear quarter windows, side vents, and pronounced fender flares and wheel arches. It rides on optional 60-spoke knock-off wire wheels. Some blemishes and chips are noted, Additional images are provided in the gallery.

Inside, the cabin presents black upholstery complemented with a wooden dashboard and steering wheel. Equipment includes bucket seats, roll-up windows, and Triumph-branded floor mats. The seller notes some wear on the driver's seat bolster and floor mats, although the other interior components are noted to be in good condition. The weather stripping is said to have been replaced along with the cooling system replaced with a high-flow radiator. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.

Power is derived from a 2.0-liter inline-six engine which is said to have been rebuilt as part of the restoration. The rear wheels are driven through a 4-speed manual transmission. In contrast to the GT6 Mk I, the GT6+ showcased a redesigned rear suspension with reversed lower wishbones and Rotoflex driveshaft couplings, as well as enhanced brakes featuring a dual circuit system and tandem master cylinder. Non-matching engine and transmission numbers are reported, and service items are said to include rebuilding of the suspension and transmission tunnel, along with attention to the brakes front. Mechanical modifications are said to include K&N engine filters and a Monza exhaust.

This sale will include a clean title, a spare tire, and some tools.
