Introduced as the Belvedere GTX in 1967, the Plymouth GTX is a luxuriously appointed muscle car offered with several powertrain choices. Powered by a 440ci V8 engine paired with a TorqueFlite automatic transmission, this 1970 example benefits from a nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration and is finished in Dark Burnt Orange Metallic over a matching vinyl interior. It is also optioned with the performance hood treatment, a 26-inch radiator, dual chrome exhaust outlets, and more. This GTX is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Canada.

Facelifted for the 1970 model year with a new grille and rear taillights, this Plymouth is finished in Dark Burnt Orange Metallic with black hood graphics & side stripes and was optioned with the performance hood treatment. It rides on 14” steel wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle ST tires. Other equipment includes a grille surround and roof drip rail moldings along with dual chrome exhaust outlets. The seller reports that the car benefited from a nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration completed throughout 2014-2015. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings.

The cabin features Dark Burnt Orange Metallic vinyl upholstery with front bucket seats, a rear bench, and matching carpets. Wood trim accents the dashboard, center console, and door panels, while orange piping lines the seats and door panels. Equipment includes a 3-spoke steering wheel, roll-up windows, an AM radio, windshield wipers, and a cabin heater. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are said to function as intended.

Powered by a 440ci 4-barrel-carbureted Super Commando V8 engine, this GTX sends up to 375 HP and 480 lb.-ft. of torque to its rear wheels through a 3-speed H-D A-727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission. It was optioned from the factory with a 26-inch radiator and a dual exhaust. The seller states that the car underwent a nut & bolt restoration throughout 2014-2015, which included restoration of the original, numbers-matching engine and transmission. It has also been noted that fluids were changed twice annually.

This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.
