We are pleased to present this stunning '73 911 Carrera RS 2.7 MFI tribute finished in Green Metallic over a period correct black interior. Starting life out as a 1970 911T, this 2.7 was completely overhauled and transformed by German Technology in Largo, FL. into this stunning RS tribute we see today. Highlighting a full rebuild of the coveted Mechanical Fuel Injection (MFI) engine and butt-welded rear fenders, this tribute was built as closely to original spec as possible. This beautiful backdate is now being offered by a seller in FL with less than 2k miles covered since the completion of the build.
This RS tribute has been refinished in rare Green Metallic (838-H), which has been confirmed by the builder to be the original color of the 1973 911T donor car. Nearly $20k has been spent on the bare-metal restoration of the body alone to ensure a factory-like finish. This RS features all-new exterior trim, body seals, lights, and glass. The complete rebuild of this car includes flared and butt-welded rear fenders just as Porsche originally used at the factory. Original-spec RS bumpers were installed along with the distinctive ducktail rear decklid and factory Fuchs wheels which come dressed in period-correct Michelin tires.
Inside, this tribute has been appointed with a period-correct black RS interior. The seller states that the interior has been completely restored to a very high standard with fully functional gauges, electrical components and accessories. Highlights include full RS carpeting, RS door panels and brand-new Sport S seats which come upholstered in perforated black leather.
This RS tribute is powered by a fully rebuilt 2.7L MFI flat-six engine which matches the factory RS output of 210 HP. The rear wheels are driven by way of a completely reconstructed 5-speed 915 manual transmission, making for a visceral and authentic RS driving experience. The original block was rebuilt using all new internals and an overhauled mechanical fuel injection system to ensure this engine is as close to RS 2.7 MFI spec as possible. The suspension and braking systems were also rebuilt using brand new parts and tuned to factory specifications. Once behind the wheel, even those who have driven the genuine factory RS find it hard to determine any discernible difference in performance. The seller has indicated that this RS is in excellent driving condition and ready for its new owner. @axraptor2 The three chips are there if you look in the right spot. And I’m not suggesting that the seller is hiding anything. Clearly they could have photoshopped them if they wanted to but didn’t. I just find it odd that a car with $20,000 in body and paint and just 2000 miles has three paint chips or flakes in an area that is not exposed directly to the elements or road debris. Part of what a seller has to expect when you put a car up on a site like this (which is clearly modelled on Bring-A-Trailer and it’s ruthless and infinitely knowledgeable and nit picking members) is that people with an eye for detail such as myself will notice the little things. That being said, it appears to be a very nice car and whatever flaws there are can be corrected.
@LeeKingFloyd I was curious so looked at the photos you Were referring to. I just don’t see it. This looks like an honest and well detailed build based on all the photos. I have built and have been involved in numerous early 911 builds and this looks like a really nice car and equally as important looks like it isn’t hiding anything. The 2.7 MFI RS spec motor is the business and just makes this car super special. GLWS and best to the wining bidder.

@LeeKingFloyd Thank you for your comments. We attempt to show any imperfection. The areas you point out are extremely small. I think if you would be willing to come and personally inspect the car they would be of little concern.

It’s a lovely looking car in my favourite colour. But I noticed there are several large chips in the paintwork visible in photo 67, below and to the left of the build plate in the frunk, right at the leading edge where the rubber meets metal. A close up look is visible in photo 55 of two of the chips and there appears to be corrosion present. I’m surprised to see that on just 2K miles of use on a $20K body and paint job.
