Marking the first year in which 911 engine displacement was increased for performance, this 1970 Porsche 911S Coupe was specified with equipment for the U.S. market and came factory finished in Light Yellow over Black leatherette upholstery. Delivered new to Bozzani Porsche Audi of Monrovia, California, this Coupe had been under the care of an Early 911S registry member and Master Mechanic before being acquired by its last owner in 2004 who has kept the car as part of their collection ever since.  It has been fitted with upgraded wheels and Recaro Sports Seats, completely refinished in its original color, and was chosen to represent the 1970 model on display at the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the 911 during Rennsport Reunion II in Daytona Florida, 2004.  Accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity showing a number’s matching engine, this early 911S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.

This Coupe came factory finished in Light Yellow (62), a color that debuted for the 1970 model year and went on to become one of the most iconic shades of the 70s.  Compared to the standard 911, the “S” model came with a lightweight aluminum decklid along with aluminum sill moldings, wider rubbing strips on the bumpers, and gold Porsche lettering on the rear.  This example also comes with pop-out rear quarter windows, front fog lights, and upgraded 7”x15” Fuchs wheels dressed in an older set of BF Goodrich Comp T/A tires.  The seller notes the car was completely refinished in its original color about 10 years ago, additional images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings.

The Black leatherette interior comes fitted with a set of upgraded factory Recaro Sport Seats and a period Blaupunkt radio.  Original options include tinted glass all-around and an antenna with loudspeaker and noise suppression.  The seller reports the analog clock is nonfunctional, while all other gauges and accessories are working properly at this time.

This 911S is equipped with an air-cooled 2.2L flat-six engine featuring Bosch mechanical fuel injection, forged pistons, and an output of up to 180 HP.  It has been upgraded with oil-fed Carrera chain tensioners as well as Turbo lower valve covers, SSI heat exchangers, and a Dansk sport muffler.  The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed 901 manual gearbox, and stopping power comes from aluminum brake calipers paired with ventilated rotors at all four corners.  The seller reports the car to have only ever required standard routine maintenance throughout the years and has supplied images of the undercarriage.

This sale will include the original stamped maintenance record, a key and leather pouch, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean title.

@alan6888hk unfortunately they are not available for cars with a ten digit VIN.

@dchesrown you can find a copy of the COA in the photo section of this listing, image #139. You will find a photo of the engine number as well, image #167. The COA does not list the transmission number, however we did take a picture of it as well and you can see that number in image #134. While the COA does not list the transmission number, we have no reason to believe it is not the correct one.

How about COA?. Is the car full #'s matching engine, chassis and transmission?

@mineralfarmer My client is a serious collector who has built a wonderful collection of 911S's. He thinks the sport seats are more comfortable and has added sport seats to all of his 911S's.
The original seats are not available and will not be provided. Just an additional comment the sports seats are worth about $15,000.

Could we have a little more information about the seat swap? Will the original seats be included?

@nobrakes - we just posted a video of the car in the sunlight. You are more than welcome to visit our showroom should you be interested in inspecting the car.

Any pictures of this car in the light of day?? These studio shots look filtered and touched up and look almost more like a drawing than the real car. Im sure it’s a great car but the gallery leaves much to question.
