Before founding Automobil Lamborghini, Ferruccio Lamborghini gained prominence for manufacturing specialized agricultural machinery under the Lamborghini Trattori brand. Benefitting from a complete frame-off restoration in Southern Europe before being imported to the United States, this 1971 Lamborghini 1R 230 tractor is finished in a traditional blue and orange color combination and is powered by a 1.5-liter twin-cylinder diesel engine. This collectible tractor is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
As part of a complete frame-off restoration, this 1R features a traditional combination of blue-painted chassis with a contrasting orange engine cover, seat, fairings, and wheels. The steel seat is embossed with a Lamborghini logo and is positioned ahead of a black three-spoke steering wheel and an analog instrument panel. Equipment includes headlamps, taillights, power takeoff shafts (PTOs), a rear hitch, an ANSA muffler, and an Italian number plate. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The 1R 230 is powered by a 1500cc air-cooled Lamborghini FL2 4-stroke twin-cylinder OHV diesel engine that utilizes a Bosch fuel injection system. Producing up to 30 HP, the 1R 230 features increased power and larger tires than a standard 1R and sends power to the rear wheels by way of a 3-speed manual gearbox with a hi/lo transfer case. Mechanical equipment includes lateral reducers, mechanical brakes, a locking differential, and a variable track. A complete restoration was completed, and no outstanding maintenance items have been reported.
