Now available is this 1971 Porsche 911E Targa presented in Light Ivory over a Black leatherette interior. Representing one of only 935 examples built for the model year, this 911E Targa underwent a complete restoration approximately 8 years ago which included a full respray in its factory specified color. Featuring a 2.2 L fuel-injected flat-six engine mated to a 5-speed 901 manual transmission, this classic 911 Targa is now being offered by its seller in California while showing just under 100k miles on the odometer.
During the time of the restoration, this 911 was completely refinished in its factory original color of Light Ivory. The paint is stated to be in great overall condition with some minor road going wear and a small blemish indicated on the passenger door (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). Exterior details include gold rear badging, a distinctive silver Targa bar and 15” Fuchs wheels which come dressed in period-correct Vredestein tires dated from 2015.
Having also been restored, the Black leatherette interior is reported to be in very nice condition. Features include factory comfort seats and the original gauges which are reported to be fully functional along with all other accessories.
This 911E carries an air cooled 2.2 L flat-six engine with Bosch mechanical fuel injection (MFI). Approximately 155 HP is sent to the rear wheels by way of a numbers matching 5-speed 901 manual gearbox which was overhauled in July of 2020. The vacuum lines were changed in 2019 and the engine was also serviced and tuned in May of 2020 along with the replacements of all the points. This 911E is reported to be in fantastic running order.
