For 1969, Porsche offered substantial changes to the 911s bodywork including an elongated wheelbase and flared wheel arches. This 1971 Porsche 911T Coupe was previously refinished in yellow with a green stripe and pairs a 5-speed manual gearbox to its 2.2-liter flat-six engine. Acquired by the seller in 2021 from a reported long-term owner in Denver, Colorado, this example is an excellent candidate for a complete restoration. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Wyoming.

The exterior has been previously refinished in the current shade of yellow with a green stripe. The body is complete with aluminum rocker trim, bumpers, rubbing strips, headlamps, taillights, chrome moldings, door handles, exterior mirrors, and windows. A fiberglass front bumper has been added and the seller states all other panels are steel. It rides on 15” ATS “cookie cutter” wheels dressed in older Yokohama tires. The suspension has been lowered offering a more aggressive stance. The seller states this example was factory finished in Crystal Blue, and the refinish shows several imperfections from age and suspected track use. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin presents black leatherette along the door panels and dashboard, along with deviating red aftermarket Corbeau bucket seats. The factory-correct steering wheel, gauges, and “911T” lettering remain, and an aftermarket shifter has been added. The seller notes that some carpet pieces are missing, the seat fabric is faded, and the dashboard shows some cracking. Additional images are shown in the gallery.

A series-correct 2.2-liter flat-six engine has been fitted, generating power to the rear wheels by through a 5-speed manual gearbox. The seller states the transmission may be original to the car but is unable to confirm. Equipment includes heavier torsion and sway bars, Koni front struts and rear shocks, and 911S aluminum calipers. The seller adds that an oil and filter service was carried out in 2022, and mechanical items need refurbishment.

This sale will include a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “This car is an excellent candidate for total restoration or daily driver. It would make a very cool rat rod or hot rod with strong mechanicals but rough paint. Makes it a great car that you can park anywhere and not have to worry about a door ding!”

There is no back registration owed.
Wyoming does not have a system like California.

  • M3BUM (registered bidder) 11 months, 3 weeksago

@PcarLiquidators Since car is not currently registered, do you know if it owes back registration? If, so how much to get registration current? Or is it registered as "Non Operational"

I LOVE this thing... before Walker and Singer corrupted the term OUTLAW, associating the genre with big $$$$, this is what a hand to mouth enthusiast with tools would look for to buy. The mason jars full of nickels and dimes would be spent judiciously in an effort to sort it out mechanically and make it safe to drive, starting with brakes, suspension, steering and tires to know that when power is added the chassis is ready for it. Then invest in the motor and drivetrain and of course a gnarly exhaust to make it nice and salty. By then, there is no time to worry about what it looks like because its too much fun to drive and the thought of it spending years in restoration is unbearable. That is the classic definition of an Outlaw Porsche. The delicious irony of it is that when it pulls into the Porsche meet it garners ALL the attention, stealing ears and eyes from those shiny restored and late model cars. Ask me how I know...

Should say broken paint instead of driven!

  • PcarLiquidators (seller) 11 months, 3 weeksago

    @eurocol
Hello Jack. The spots on fender and roof are surface only and from driven paint or burned off paint from rubbing tires. The cars sits pretty low. At least an inch or more lower than my RS.

  • eurocol (registered bidder) 11 months, 3 weeksago

@PcarLiquidators Interesting car, underside looks reasonably rust free,
the body looks to have rust in unusual places,
    roof, rear fender, etc.
what happened to the spirited drive video??
    Unanswered questions regarding engine number?
    many thanks,

  • PcarLiquidators (seller) 11 months, 3 weeksago

The hood has surface rust under the tape. Not sure if the tape was meant to cover it up or actually caused the rust. It is only surface rust on the bare metal.

  • PcarLiquidators (seller) 11 months, 3 weeksago

    @flatsix48
As I mentioned before the pan has no rust issues but is dinged and dented from hard use or improper jacking like a lot of 911s suffer.
I hope to get down to the car today and do some driving and drifting videos and get some more numbers for people.
    Thanks

  • Flatsix48 (registered bidder) 11 months, 3 weeksago

Photos 172 & 179 - It appears the pan is damaged, is that the photo angle or damage?
Photo 189 - Shows rust on the leading edge of the hood, perhaps you could remove the tape?
    Thanks

I don’t have the original seats.

  • PcarLiquidators (seller) 11 months, 3 weeksago

    Hello Jim
Looks like the floors, rockers, longitudinal and suspension pan are all original. The car doesn’t have any rust issues but does have road rash and dings and scrapes in the paint.
    Thanks for looking and bidding.

  • jimcomer (registered bidder) 11 months, 3 weeksago

How about rust issues? Looks pretty good.
Do you h ave any old parts for it? Old seats, etc.

    Thanks

    Yes
    Clear title.
Pcarmarket posts that in the last sentence of the first page of listing.
    Thanks

  • Somer (registered bidder) 11 months, 3 weeksago

@PcarLiquidators It does have a title though?

  • PcarLiquidators (seller) 11 months, 3 weeksago

    @somer
I think that is more Pcarmarket speak for old cars.
The car runs and drives just needs tuning and TLC.
    Basically just normal maintenance.
The fuel tank was flushed and oil changed before firing it up 2 years ago.
Car hasn’t been driven much since then.
Car is not registered but I will try to sneak it out for some spirited driving videos this weekend.

  • PcarLiquidators (seller) 11 months, 3 weeksago

Hello. The tape is from the previous owner and is most likely covering rock chips or road rash.
The bumper is fiberglass and probably has scrapes and chips from use.
Maybe I can pull the tape off and see what’s there.
I can always refresh the tape.

  • Somer (registered bidder) 11 months, 3 weeksago

Can you elucidate some more on this statement :"and mechanical items need refurbishment."? Any idea of the state of tune on the engine? Do you know what the tape is covering on the nose? Have you done any compression checks? Thanks !

Welcome to my latest Porsche 911 auction.
This 1971 Porsche 911T coupe has been in long term storage until recently. This car was originally CRYSTALBLUE with black interior. It was painted yellow with a green stripe many years ago by the previous owner. He used the car for PCA track events.
It has plenty of dings and dents and burned paint from rubbing tires.
The car runs and drives but will need TLC and tuning to be a daily driver.
The car has stiffer suspension and sway bars. The alignment has been setup for aggressive track driving.
I will add more info later on and hopefully some video.
Thanks for the early bid @991911s
