We are pleased to present this 1971 Porsche 911T Targa presented in the rare factory color of Albert Blue.  Purchased by its current owner in 2019, this U.S.-market 1971 example underwent a recent no-expense spared full restoration including a complete engine rebuild carried out by legendary racing technician Volker Bruckmann.  Showcasing classic long-hood Porsche styling and a visceral 2.2 L carbureted engine, this beautifully restored 1971 Targa is now being offered by its seller in California accompanied by restoration invoices and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

Upon the seller’s purchase last year, this Targa was fully disassembled, sanded and treated for rust-prevention before being completely refinished in its rare factory color of Albert Blue.  Offered between the model years of 1970-1972, this special non-metallic shade of blue remains one of the most highly sought-after Porsche colors of all time.  New body seals, trim pieces and exterior lighting were installed during the restoration along with a new rear decklid grille.  All new replacement parts were sourced exclusively from the Sierra Madre Collection in California.

The cabin has been completely restored in its factory correct Black leatherette upholstery.  Original options listed on the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity include Automatic Safety Belts, an Antenna with Loudspeaker, Tinted Glass All-Around and Comfort Equipment which includes a leather covered steering wheel, aluminum doorsills and 911S-type dashboard gauges.  The seller confirms all instruments and accessories to be working properly.

This 911T is equipped with a series-correct 2.2 L carbureted flat-six engine which is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.  The engine has been completely rebuilt by legendary racing technician Volker Bruckmann, who used his own method known as pre-seating which reduces excessive oil consumption that these engines are known for. The same engine-building methods were used that led various racing cars to victory at historic events including the 24-hours of Sebring and Baja 1000.  An upgraded Dansk muffler was installed during the rebuild along with SSI heat exchangers.  Images from the engine overhaul and restoration process are included in the photo gallery and the seller confirms this 911 to be in excellent running order with less than 500 miles driven since the completion of the restorative work.

This sale will include 1 master key, a spare tire, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and invoices from the restoration. Presented in Albert Blue, this fully-restored Targa makes the perfect choice for any discerning enthusiast, do not let this opportunity pass you by.
