Available for auction is this 1972 Fiat 500 F finished in white over a red leather interior. Widely recognized as the first city car, the 500 was launched in 1957 and was produced through 1975 over a single generation. This 1972 example was recently restored by the specialists at Affari Sbullonati of Rome, Italy. It features a rebuilt 498cc air-cooled twin engine, a reupholstered cabin with an upgraded sound system, a retractable sunroof in the colors of the Italian flag, and more. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Italy.

This 500 was refinished in its current shade of white during the restoration and features an Italian tri-color retractable soft top. Equipment includes polished chrome bumpers, bright chrome trim, a driver’s door mirror, a vented engine cover, “Nuova 500” badging, and a rear-mounted luggage rack with a red leather travel bag featuring “Fiat 500” embroidery. It rides on a set of 12″ steel wheels with chrome hubcaps and a new set of whitewall tires.

The cabin is upholstered in custom red leather with Italian tri-color stripes on the seats and “500” logos on the backrests, dashboard, and center console. Red leather extends to the lower dashboard, door panels, lever boots, center console, rear shelf, and sun visors. Features include front vent windows, roll-up side windows, a two-spoke steering wheel, a painted dashboard housing a speedometer, and toggle switchgear. A custom center console houses a modern Bluetooth radio head unit that connects to two speakers mounted beneath the dashboard.

Power comes from a rear-mounted air-cooled 498cc inline-twin engine driving the rear wheels by way of a  4-speed manual transaxle. The seller notes that the engine was completely refurbished during the restoration and has seen little use since.

This sale will include a clean title.
