As part of the Lincoln Continental series, the Mark IV epitomized American luxury and style during the early 1970s. Influenced by the “coke bottle” design popularized throughout the 70s, the Mark IV presents distinctive styling cues along with a host of opulent amenities. This 1972 Coupe comes finished in Ivy Moondust over tan upholstery and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.

While the Mark IV shared a chassis and roofline with the contemporary Thunderbird, all of the bodywork below the roof was unique to the Lincoln including the "Continental spare tire" decklid, hideaway headlamps, and a tall radiator-style grill. This Coupe comes finished in Ivy Moondust with a tan roof and an Opera Window. Chrome trim adorns the front grille, bumpers, rockers, fenders, mirrors, window trim, model designations, and 15” turbine-style wheels. The seller notes a paint chip and wear on the top near the rear windshield. Additional images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin is trimmed in light tan leather with button-tufted seating contrasted by a green vinyl dashboard and black carpets. Amenities include power-operated front seats, trunk release, and windows, along with woodgrain inlays on the dashboard & door panels, a three-spoke steering wheel, and climate control. The seller notes the fuel gauge always reads full.

Power comes from a 7.5-liter V8 engine that drives the rear wheels by way of a 3-speed automatic transmission. The Lincoln Mark IV came equipped as standard with power steering and Ford’s "Sure-Track" brakes. The seller states a service binder will accompany the sale and confirms there are currently no outstanding maintenance items.

This sale will include a clean title.

Do you have an estimate to repair the fuel gauge?

I just drove the car over 30 miles, in town, on the highway w speeds over 80 mph, car drove perfect, true and straight, excellent braking, shifting and temperature, I see it in need of nothing to improve its ride or performance. It has had a recent service. Video will be added

Can the seller let us know when the last time the car was actively on the road? Are there any start up or driving videos that can be made available? What maintenence for safety or other does the car need now. Thanks
