We are pleased to present this 1972 Porsche 911S Coupe finished in rare Albert Blue over a black leather interior. This numbers-matching Euro-spec 911S was said to have been delivered new in Italy, where it remained under the care of the original owner until 2018, when it was acquired by renowned New York artist, art dealer, and curator Kenny Schachter through Tramonti Diffusion, an Italian Porsche dealership. Mr. Schachter brought the 911S to the United Kingdom, where he enjoyed it until October 2019, when the 911 was imported to the United States. Having benefitted from a recent service, this 911S shows approximately 86k miles on the odometer and is now being offered at auction by the seller based in New York, accompanied by an Italian Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and Italian Dealership Service Booklet.
The Albert Blue (1818) exterior was reported to have been repainted at a very high standard in the late 80s during previous ownership and is said to remain in excellent condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery, along with paint meter readings. Exterior equipment includes a driver’s side chrome mirror, European-market taillight lenses and headlight rings, chrome lower rocker trim, a 911S front spoiler, and a 1972-only external oil filler door on the passenger-side rear fender. The original 15” Fuchs wheels are mounted with Dunlop tires.
The interior of this 911 is upholstered in black vinyl, with matching door panels and gray carpeting. The seats of this 911 have been reupholstered in black leather during previous ownership, and the rest of the interior remains highly original and was factory optioned with rear headrests and three-point retractable shoulder safety belts. The original radio has been replaced with a Becker Europa stereo, which has since been discontinued. Black VDO instrumentation, including a 150-mph speedometer and tachometer with a 7,300-rpm redline, can be seen behind a four-spoke steering wheel. The seller reports all features and gauges to be in working order at this time.
The 2.4-liter Type 911/53 flat-six features mechanical fuel injection and was factory rated at 190 horsepower and 158 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle, allowing the 911S to reach 60 MPH in 6.5 seconds. The original engine stamping reading 6321163 identifies this engine as being original to the car, as indicated in the Porsche COA. This example has remained in the hands of collectors and is said to have been meticulously maintained, having received a full service right before being acquired by the seller, and records are provided in the gallery including the original Italian Dealership Service booklet and recent invoices.
This sale will include 2 sets of keys, the original owner’s manuals, an Italian Dealership Service booklet, a factory toolkit, and an Italian Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

Hi Bidders,
We have had several people call us asking questions regarding the car and there was a concern from someone that the transmission photograph that we sent them had the serial number of the transmission broken off. We have had a few early 911S experts look at this, and we were told that it was quite common for a car to have the number broken off, especially for a car that has spent its time in the bumpy roads of Italy, where this car spent most of its life. This is common since this is the lowest part of the car and the first part that scrapes on a speed bump. We are comfortable that this is a matching numbers transmission and I doubt anyone would have done this poor a job to remove/obfuscate the transmission number (as opposed to re-stamping it), however, it was not a concern of ours but it may be to someone that purchases the car. It’s worth mentioning that the transmission shifts excellently and and our experts have chimed in to say that in their opinion, it’s the original trans. By the way, coincidentally, we just recently purchased a 1973 911 Carrera RS in splendid condition, it just so happens that the transmission looks identical to the one that pictured below from our 911S currently being auctioned.

A: We do not have any records of prior to when it left Italy, however, the engine runs with great power, and the transmission shifts very smoothly.
-can you provide pics of undercarriage? Any oil leaks or seepage?
A: We will request that PCar post our full underbody set which we submitted, however, there is one photo currently posted which showcases the rust free underbody and fully original undercoating.
-any recent compression/leak down checks?
A: No, because of how well the engine runs, no need was found to do that.
-condition of headliner. Any stains or damage?
A: The headliner seems to be in excellent condition, please refer to the photo posted.
-any areas of rust?
A: No, no visible rust.
-is the stated milage of 44K believed to be original?
A: We are not sure on the mileage, please refer to our prior comment.
-any pics when respray was done? Was it bare metal?
A: No photos as it was the 80's, it looks that way, but we do not know for sure.

@NattyHolt1 Hello, the mileage shown is 44,000km, we have invoices that show both 144,000 km, and 44,000 km, so to play it safe, we have calculated it to be 144,000 km, which is 86,000 miles.
