Finished in Willow Green (L63K) over a Black vinyl interior, this 1972 Porsche 914 has been refurbished with new paint along with an overhaul and reseal of its 1.7L flat-four engine. Also modified with polished Fuchs wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, clear European lenses, and a dual Weber carburetor conversion, this 914 is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Florida
This example was recently refinished in its rare factory 914-exclusive color of Willow Green (L63K). All exterior rubber seals have reportedly been replaced along with the front spoiler and rubber bumper top. Italian specification clear lenses have been fitted to the taillamps, front turn signals, and side markers, along with a fiberglass rear decklid spoiler and third brake light. This 914 rides on a set of 15” polished Fuchs wheels dressed in Goodyear Eagle Sport tires from 2021. The seller notes some blemishes on the lower right quarter panel, hood, and above the rear bumper.
Inside, this 914 sports black vinyl upholstery with basketweave pattern inserts on the dashboard, door panels, and seat centers. Additions include a center console with auxiliary gauges, an aftermarket wood-rimmed steering wheel, and an aftermarket radio which is currently inoperable. All other accessories and instrumentation are said to be working properly, although the windows could be hard to roll up and the rear decklid will not lock.
Power comes from an air-cooled 1.7L flat-four engine featuring dual Weber carburetors. The rear wheels are driven through a rebuilt 5-speed manual transmission. According to the seller, the engine has been completely resealed and equipped with a new AGM battery, distributor, ignition coil, and spark plugs by Auto Imports LLC of Tampa, Florida.
This sale will include an owner's handbook, a set of two keys, another rear decklid, the original U.S. lenses, and a clean title.

@VCAT L63K would be Willow Green which is current color, and I am certain not the original color. It was red in 2011 and in at one other auction after that, you can see the red showing through the green overspray in several of your pics. Maybe you could get the tag and engine number for me later, I would great appreciate it. Thanks, and Good Luck!

I am at work and unable to get the engine serial number or send you pics of the tag. The tag is faint but show the color code L63K, however can’t make out the chassis #. I am not sure about prior auctions as I bought the car from a vehicle collector. Thanks for you comments and input.

@VCAT Sorry this is last minute, but can you provide a picture or the information on the Karmann tag inside the driver side front door jam? It should have the Chassis # and the Paint Code. I know this car and it has been sold at auction in the past with 2 different shades of red paint, but they called it Burgundy which there was no factory color called by that name. The Color Code will tell the original color at least as I can see there is some red showing through in a couple of the pictures of the Willow Green which looks way better than the red ever did.
Also the Chassis Number would be nice to have if you could provide it from the same Karmann tag, either by picture or just in replay to my question I would appreciate it.
Last thing is I know this car has been offered at auction at least 3 different times, 2 with red paint and one with the Willow Green not counting this one. The car was listed as a 1.7L engine the first time, then listed as a 1.8L engine a couple of times, and now 1.7L again. In 1972 the only 914/4 was 1.7L, but it could have been changed. Can you provide the engine serial number from the top of the casing either by picture or looking or any documentation that might show if it has been changed or not?

I have a 71 in the exact same color and miles, with a stock 1.7. Mine does have the dog dish hub caps and original foot rest. I drove it 150 miles today back roads. It absolutely flew at 70-75mph, so light, nimble and responsive. It’s not a head snapper from stop signs, but it does snap the heads of fellow motorists and pedestrians. rockb20- I thought I would forward my two cents on your questions- I have had 6 -914 over the years, and the round running lights were on all of those, and the Fuchs you see are the correct ones for a 914 Porsche- I'm hoping I can load a picture of a concourse quality 1974 I sold 13 years ago with both of those on my Red 74-2.0 -looks like I can't get the picture to open

Thank you for your kind words on the cool Willow green color on the 914.
The 914 came with the round side markers as shown on pictures # 7, 21 & 23.
I found a picture I took of the inside of the rims which has the following # 914.361 011.01. I will try to post with all the other pictures in the gallery. I looked these up on the internet and the information indicated these are original Porsche Fuchs rim for the 70’s models. I was told by a 914 enthusiast that these were Porsche original rims. I have 2 questions for the experts here regarding the 914.
1) I thought that only the VW versions of the 914 came with the round side marker lights on the front fender?
2) The seller lists these wheels as Fuchs style, but I thought that designation applied only to the 5 spoke wheels that came on several 70’s and early 80’s model P cars - I think I’ve seen them on 911s mainly but they were an option on 944s. Or perhaps those were the most well known/desirable and that’s why I only knew of the 5 spoke version.

Picture #9 After I replaced the rubber hood seal the passenger side of the hood is a little higher.
Pictures 30 & 31 show some blemishes on the lower passenger fender.
Picture #52 shows the rubber seal on the targa top. I just checked the seal and it is solid and not hanging.

Question- on picture 9, the hood looks a lot higher on the passenger side- is that correct? Also, in pictures #30-31- what are you showing in those shots- the last one for now, in picture 52, looking at the top, what is coming loose? You have a great 914, and I hope you get the money you are looking for; the downside is the 1.7 engine- but it has a great color and an outstanding steering wheel Good Luck Rob

Thank for your kind comments regarding the Willow Green paint! Auto Atlanta who deals with 914 parts indicated the clear rear lens were for Italian spec 914’s and someone on 914 World indicated as you have that they used the Euro rear lens. Thanks for your input.
The front turn signals in Italy were clear but rear lens would not be clear, but amber/red.
