Up for auction is this Porsche 911 RSR tribute. Originally commissioned by The RSR Project based out of Bedford Hills, NY, this well-executed backdate not only looks the part, but delivers an outstanding level of both performance and quality. Due to its striking presence, this specific RSR can be found in many online articles and photoshoots. Currently residing in Pompano Beach, FL, the selling dealer states the car to be in excellent condition with only a few hundred miles driven since ownership.
Starting with a fully intact, proper period 911, this rust-free car was completely dismantled and media blasted down to bare metal. It was then fitted with an extensive amount of high-quality RSR upgrades including: steel flares, proper early type “911 long hood”, lightweight fiberglass trunk lid, ducktail, and fiberglass RSR period specification bumpers. Once the metal work was completed, a concours-level respray was applied in the iconic color of Tangerine. All gaskets, rubber seals and felts were replaced during assembly. “Carrera” side stripes, “Carrera RS” and “Porsche” front/rear badges are affixed, along with rubber deck-lid and front trunk lid latches as per the original RSR. Finishing off the classic RSR look are 15x9” & 15x11” Braid Fuchs wheels that are fitted with period correct vintage Michelin TB15 tires.
Inside, you will find a completely reupholstered custom interior that means business. Several RS and RSR components have been implemented, including a rewrapped dashboard, proper Perlon carpeting, and custom headrest-less fixed shell bucket seats with plaid inserts. A deep dish four-spoke 380mm RSR wheel, refreshed pedal assembly and Wevo short shift kit help to provide that visceral feeling that is praised by so many. With a radio block-off plate and stripped door panels, this minimalistic interior offers no distractions.
Powering this RSR is a 3.2-liter flat-six engine that is mated to a coveted 915 5-speed gearbox. The engine sports a pair of aluminum-coated headers, a ceramic-coated twin-exit center pipe muffler, new alternator, new clutch, new flywheel, pressure plate and throw-out bearing. For added reliability, a front-mounted oil cooler helps regulate average air-cooled engine temperatures and all wiring checked for function. The suspension was renewed and the 911 is treated to a professional corner balance and 4-wheel alignment. Additionally, the transmission has been refreshed with Magnaflux used on all steel components.

@flyn-hawn no exageration this car is absolutely amazing. It makes me giddy to drive. I've kept it for a couple weeks longer just to enjoy it. As a real car enthusiast and driver there are few cars that have put this kind of smile on my face. Also as a guy that just likes to get in and go not really fidget... @DRiV305 Thank you for the reply and I apologize, after looking through the latest photos I saw that the original type brakes we’re retained. I have seen Richard’s light yellow rsr style car in person and it seemed to have been done to a high standard.
@flyn-hawn period correct 1974 Porsche Calipers and new rotors lines etc completely torn down and rebuilt. I do not have any pics presently with the wheels off but I will attempt to take some when I find some time.

@Thommo Thanks for the kind words. The car really does have to be seen in person and driven to really appreciate the magnitude of the build and the experience! Its spectacular. The title is a CLEAN 1974 911 Porsche title with no brands whatsoever. The vin is: 9114100773. I do not have a COA for the original car but from what I understand you can request one for $100.00. It was of no interest to me considering the level of work to make it a different car all together. The car was very much a professional build and commission done by Richard Shickman of the RSR project. As a matter of fact the video on their site is of this very car on the opening page. Later today or the latest tomorrow I will get the car on a lift for some underbelly photos of that, brakes and suspension!
