We are pleased to present this custom 1973 Porsche 911T RSR tribute finished in Viper Green.  Acquired by the seller in 2018, this 1973 example has since undergone a complete RSR-style custom restoration including wide steel fender flares, RSR bumpers and spoilers, a fully reupholstered saddle leather interior, and an upgraded 3.6L flat-six Varioram engine sourced from a Porsche 993.  Upgraded Porsche 996 brakes were also equipped along with an upgraded suspension and a rebuilt Carrera 915 5-speed manual gearbox with custom ratios and a limited-slip differential.  Weighing in at approximately 2,500 lbs. while sending nearly 300 HP to the rear wheels, this RSR-style build is as exciting to drive as it is to look at.  With approximately 1k miles driven under the current ownership, this no-expense-spared RSR tribute is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Tennessee.

Upon the seller’s acquisition in 2018, this 911 was completely disassembled, stripped to bare metal, and refinished in its rare factory specified color of Viper Green (255) using high-quality Glasurit paint.  A protective bed-liner coating was applied to the floor pans and widened steel fender flares were added along with a steel hood, lightweight fiberglass RSR bumpers, a removable front splitter, a ducktail rear spoiler, and aluminum window trims.  Other modifications include H4 LED headlights, powder-coated aluminum headlight bezels, LED driving lights behind the horn grilles, custom “6-shooter” drilled door handles and removable Porsche script graphics along both doors.  Additional images are provided in the photo gallery.  This 911 rides on 17” Braid RSR-style Fuchs wheels measuring 9” in front and 11” wide in the rear.  These wheels come dressed in Sumitomo HTR tires measuring 245/45 and 315/35.

Inside, the cabin has been completely redone with new saddle leather patchwork door panels and dashboard inlays, custom German square weave carpeting, Ivory headliner, and an ACCR bolt-in roll bar with rear seat delete.  Custom GT-style vented sport seats have been added along with a 917-style wooden shift knob and green LED backlighting for the instrument dials. The custom MOMO Prototipo black leather steering wheel features green deviated to match the black leather dashboard.

This 911 has been equipped with an air-cooled 3.6L flat-six Varioram engine sourced from a 1998 Porsche 993.  This engine has been upgraded with modified exhaust headers, a custom free-flowing center-exit exhaust, and a performance ECU tune by Rennsport Systems.  A Carrera oil cooler has also been added in the front fender along with an additional center-mount oil cooler in the front bumper. The rear wheels are driven through a newly rebuilt 915 5-speed manual gearbox sourced from a 1983 Carrera.  This gearbox features an 8:31 gear ratio and is paired with a limited-slip differential.

The front suspension has been upgraded with Carrera struts and Bilstein inserts, 22mm torsion bars, a 22mm through-body adjustable sway bar, Turbo tie rods, an aluminum crossbar with Netrex A-arm bushings, and a cross strut brace.  In the rear, Carrera aluminum trailing arms have been installed along with Nertrex bushings, 30mm torsion bars, Bilstein Sport HD shocks, a Sway a Way adjustable spring plate system, and a 23mm adjustable sway bar.  The stopping power has been upgraded with Porsche 996 4-piston alloy brake calipers, slotted/drilled rotors, stainless steel lines, and a 23mm master cylinder. Images from the build process are provided for reference in the photo gallery.

This sale will include a clean title. The product of extensive labor and painstaking attention to detail, this one-of-a-kind RSR tribute is ready for a new owner.  Do not let this opportunity pass you by.

@Tito993 I assure that there are no bubbles. Looks to have been wiped off with something that had a little Armor All or something and not a micro fiber cloth.
This pic was also taken before the car was taken to get its finial detail corrections and ceramic coating. That took care of any micro scratches. The paint is very nice and really shinny!
I will see if I can get you a new pic up loaded.
    Thank You!

  • Tito993 (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

Seller can you please comment on the apparent paint issues around the hood emblem. There appear to be bubbles in the paint and off to the right what appear to be scratches. I can see the clouds so get that reflection but the others seem to be real. Thanks

  • PorscheDoc (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

I will also be including a thumb drive with all the pictures taken from the start to finish of this great build. Almost a 1000 of them!
    Thank You!

  • PorscheDoc (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

I have had some questions on the carpet color.
The photos I took make them look more yellow.
I couldn't seem to get a good pic of them that shows the true color.
If you look at the close up of the shifter pic that was added.
You can get a truer sense of the actual color. A professional took that picture.
They are good bit darker saddle in person.
    Thank You!

IMHO, I think in many ways this is a much better option over a Singer! The singer’s are unbelievable in every way, but it would give me anxiety to drive such a machine and worry about all the horrible drivers out there these days doing something to it. With this car, you basically get comparable looks, and amazing performance with a 1/10th the price tag and you can drive it everyday….. And you don’t have to wait 2-3yrs to get one if you order it.

  • PorscheDoc (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

    @DieselM333 Thank You!
