Finished in the rare shade of Raspberry, this 1973 Porsche 911T has been upgraded by Rothsport Racing with a 3.6-liter flat-six from a 964 and a 5-speed 915 manual transmission from a 911SC. Modifications also include a Guard limited-slip differential, SSI heat exchangers, custom-staggered 15″ Fuchs wheels, and enhanced braking, steering, and suspension components. Combining vintage character with visceral performance, this 911 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York.
This example is presented in extremely rare Raspberry (024). Details include chrome trim, a polished driver’s side mirror, a fender-mounted antenna, rubber trim strips, aluminum rocker moldings, pop-out rear quarter windows, black horn grilles, and black U.S.-specification bumperettes. The car rides on custom-staggered 15” Fuchs wheels with Bridgestone Potenza RE 71S tires from 2022. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Inside, the driver is greeted with black upholstery. Equipment includes a four-spoke steering wheel, VDO instrumentation, aluminum dashboard trim, roll-up windows, and a locking glovebox. A period-correct Blaupunkt AM/FM radio is also equipped, and the rear seatbelts have been removed.
Power comes from a 3.6-liter flat-six sourced from a 964, installed by Rothsport Racing in 2002. The rear wheels are driven through a modified 5-speed 915 manual transaxle from a 911SC, which was adapted for DME sensor clearance and fitted with a Guard limited-slip differential by Rothsport in 2005. A new shift coupler and bushing were installed in 2014. The exhaust system features SSI heat exchangers and a stainless steel muffler. Additionally, the battery box was patched and repainted in 2004. The stock 964 exhaust was replaced with SSI heat exchangers and a stainless-steel muffler to maintain a vintage aesthetic. Rothsport Racing upgraded the suspension with 22mm front and 28mm rear torsion bars, and Weltmeister adjustable sway bars have been fitted. Additional upgrades include new ball joints, turbo-style tie rods, and Neatrix rear plate bushings. The original struts and shocks were replaced with premium Bilstein components, while the braking system was upgraded with 930 calipers, machined for optimal clearance.

We have a Raspberry Red Metallic a 97 Carrera S. It gets a lot of attention at shows. Last year at both the Werks and Radwood at Amelia Island. It is not a color for shy folks

Hi everyone, I want to thank all of you for your interest in this particular 911. My Company has been in business 45 years and at this point, we sell cars that we find are special and unusual. I just want to let you know that this is an extraordinary car, with original paint, except for a small area which was burnt while the car was being polished. I have included a photo of the burn. It was assessed and determined that the only way to correct this, and have the paint match perfectly, was to have that small section sprayed and blended in, so that's what we had done. The paint's high level of originality is evidenced by the paint meter readings throughout. Even though the car, in its history, has been on the internet, it has never sold at the price that the owner wanted until he sold it to my client who lives in Connecticut. He is a collector of meticulous cars, and who's favorite is Porsche. I have personally driven the car, and it is dangerously fast and handles exactly the way you'd want a car to for some spirited weekend driving, or perhaps even track day usage. I am sure that it's in excellent mechanical and original cosmetic condition. Not only was the car upgraded by the Renowned RothSports Racing in Oregon, but when our client purchased the car, he brought it to the Porsche experts at Gaswerks in New Jersey and spent over $18,000 to ensure everything was up to standard. @TKO That isn’t the number made. It’s code indicating that the body was painted at the Porsche factory, presumably as distinct from being painted by the coach builder.

@ELV absolutely, we sell cars this way all the time. Infact, in New York (where we are located for example), cars manufactured before 1980 are not issued titles. All sales must occur on the registration.

@DaveWadf Hi Dave, Connecticut (where the vehicle was last registered under the previous owner) does not issue titles for vehicles over 20 years old. The registration is considered proof of ownership. The vehicle would be sold on its registration and come with an accompanying New York dealer reassignment to the new owner.
Can you elaborate on the Title for this car? Out here in California, “registration “ and “title” are two different things, and a registration document won’t let you put the title in your name. What kind of title does this car have? Thanks

Appears Rothsport did not sell the customer the donor 964 engine over 20 years ago, they merely uncrated and installed it.
There would have been no warranty or assurances by Rothsport regarding the condition of the engine.
If there are no records of an engine rebuild or top end and no recent leak-down test results bidders must roll the dice and gamble on the outcome.
While you "stand behind" your offerings, there's no warranty included here so
as is-where is.
This car has moved around considerably over the years, offered a auction several times - no sale - as well as dealer owned.
@Al_Cantara Hi, that test and those readings are from over 20 years ago. I don’t have anymore Information regarding that test or its results. I can only offer that we stand behind the cars we sell. Additionally the engine runs great, and you can be assured that the shop which performed the test and the swap, would not have installed a subpar engine.

@Al_Cantara Hi there. The right rear quarter. Was indeed refinished due to a polishing burn in the paint. There is a photo of the burn, prior to paint, just after the meter readings. I can’t speak to the hood, and there is some variation to be found in thickness on older specialty colours.
With regards to the past interior modifications, no, we no do not have any of the components you listed. The previous owner wanted to return the interior to as it was when the car left the factory.

Comparing the paint meter readings to the previous Pcarmarket listing, it appears the right/passenger rear quarter panel was refinished - 10 mils now vs 4 mils before - and the frunk lid. The remainder of the paint appears original and relatively thin from polishing.
Gotta be the rarest color.

With no photos of the underside, no current compression and leak down numbers, etc., I doubt this auction listing will bring all the money. Perhaps it is essentially an ad.
Hi Jack, yes we will put up a video of the vehicle driving as soon as we can. Indeed, the opportunity to even get out of second gear in the city is a challenge. As for the headliner, no sagging or tears whatsoever, however there are a few spots with some discolouration. I'll try and get some better shots when I return to the showroom, but if you take a look at the photos taken from the passenger side, you can see some of it.
@cooperclassics I realize you’re in the city but is there any chance of a driving video? What is the color and condition of the headliner….any sagging, discoloration, tears etc?

024 = the color “fraise” which is “strawberry” in both French and German. I believe it was officially called Rose Red in the U.S. and U.K. markets.

@ScoobyDone Hi there, we do not have those numbers, however we stand behind the cars we sell. As previously mentioned the engine runs great, and the shop which performed the work is well renowned for their high quality. We are confident they wouldn't have installed anything less than a sound engine. According to the documentation, the car has traveled less that 10k Miles since the engine was installed, and we have nothing to indicate it's condition has changed during that time. All potential buyers are welcome to come and view the car in our showroom in the West Village in NYC.
I really like the color and original badging showing the 2.4. what a sleeper. The paint readings look right. Any chance the seller can provide compression test or leak down readings too?

@jakeg104 Hi Jake, I'm not sure what unit of measure they were using, if it was % leadown, which is standard or something else, and it is to my understanding that this engine was not rebuilt and installed as it was. I'm confident the engine was in good order as I don't believe Rothsport would have installed a faulty engine. That being said, the car runs great and as you can see by the accompanying dyno sheet, the car put down 220HP. I called the performance shop where the car was dyno'd and inquired whether that was a wheel or crank figure, to which they stated it was a wheel horsepower figure. Thats a pretty healthy wheel horsepower number for stock 964 engine. Additionally, they only had great things to say about the car and attested to the high quality of work performed to it by Rothsport.
@JackB Hi Jack, going based on the records, there is a line item for them on one of the service records from Rothsport dating back to 2003. Unfortunately I cannot confirm whether they did the work or sublet it. What I can say is that they are a highly reputable and well known outfit, so either way I believe it would have been done to a high standard. The fact that it was performed over 20 years ago would also lend to that.

@JackB Hi Jack, the rear wheels have been widened by an inch. It appears they were widened by removing the inboard bead lips, and welding in sections from a donor pair.
