Porsche’s original long-hood 911 entered its final model year in 1973 and saw the introduction of a fuel-injected 2.4-liter engine for the entry-level 911T in the U.S. market. This example is a 1973 Porsche 911T Coupe finished in silver over a black interior. It features aftermarket Recaro-style cloth bucket seats, an under-dash A/C system, a Blaupunkt stereo, power windows, four-wheel disc brakes, and a 5-speed manual transaxle. The car was purchased by the seller in 2006 and has been regularly driven ever since. This classic long-hood 911 is now being offered for auction by its longtime owner out of Wyoming.

This 911T is finished in silver with chrome window surrounds, door handles, and headlight rings. Other details include a polished driver’s side mirror, a fender-mounted antenna, rubber trim strips, aluminum rocker moldings, pop-out rear quarter windows, black U.S. spec bumperettes, and 15” Fuchs wheels. The seller notes the car was refinished in 2010 and the original floors and front suspension pan have been retained. Some minor imperfections and blemishes are depicted in the photo gallery.

The black vinyl interior has been fitted with a pair of Recaro-style cloth bucket seats, an aftermarket air conditioning system, and a Blaupunkt cassette stereo. Accessories include a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, power windows, three-point seatbelts, folding rear seatbacks, a VDO quartz clock, a locking glove box, and aluminum door sill covers. The seller indicates the original door pockets and carpeting remain in very good condition and all gauges are working properly.

This 911T is equipped with an air-cooled 2.4-liter flat-six engine featuring Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and an output of up to 140 HP. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual transaxle and stopping power comes from disc brakes at each corner. The seller notes that an oil service was performed in August 2023.

This sale will include a spare tire and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “I have owned this car for 17 years and it has always been a fun car to drive. All original floors including front suspension pan.”

This car was not a daily driver for me. I have several other Porsche 911s that I drive as well.
I averaged only a few hundred miles a year so didn’t need much maintenance other than fluids and filters.

  • Kevinmr (registered bidder) 4 monthsago

Just so I understand it...in 17 years of ownership, (not sure how many miles) the only services you've done are oil changes? Thanks.

  • PcarLiquidators (seller) 4 monthsago

    The engine number is 6133841

    Type 911/51

  • PcarLiquidators (seller) 4 months, 1 weekago

The car had no records with it when I bought it.
I’ve just driven during nicer weather and haven't had to do anything other than gas, oil and filters.
Have not done a leak down or compression test.
The air conditioning needs to be serviced.
Basically all I’ve had to do is drive this car.

  • damn_yankee (registered bidder) 4 months, 1 weekago

Is there any history on the engine and transmission? Has it been rebuilt? Compression and leakdown?
    Does the AC work?

  • eurocol (registered bidder) 4 months, 1 weekago

I love the 1973 Models, however this poor car, although solid enough, looks so very sad and totally neglected,
and held together with Ace hardware.
Weird A/C with Factory York compressor, and Factory vents, but swamp cooler condensers?
I'd love to rescue it and give it a proper good home...
Any pictures of before the car was painted? Does the car come with a tool kit, books and service records??
    Spare wheel??

Can I come inspect? I am in Cody.Ddb⚓️🎄

  • PcarLiquidators (seller) 4 months, 1 weekago

    @aurcooledguyks
I looked at the car and some of the original factory undercoating is discolored and cracking. Everything is solid underneath.
It may start to peel but I don’t want to disturb it.

  • PcarLiquidators (seller) 4 months, 1 weekago

    @aircooledguyks
I think that is just discolored silver paint.
There are no patches or repairs anywhere on the underside that I can find.
All the undercoating is original factory so no repairs.
The car will most likely make a long drive. I mainly drive it around the county but have taken a few short day trips under 200 miles.
    Thanks

  • aircooledguyks (registered bidder) 4 months, 1 weekago

@PcarLiquidators nice driver. Any records of maintenance or repairs? In pic #143, is that a patch or something else? Would you drive this car 900+ miles?

  • 1973tbry (registered bidder) 4 months, 1 weekago

There is a later type electronic speedometer installed. This usually indicates a later 915 transmission installed as a 1973 would be mechanical.
The transmission serial number would tell what year it was from.
Looks like a nice solid driver overall.

  • PcarLiquidators (seller) 4 months, 1 weekago

No COA so can’t be sure but was presented as matching when I bought it.

  • Coldbru (registered bidder) 4 months, 1 weekago

    Original engine and trans?

Welcome to my auction for a 1973.5 Porsche 911T coupe. I’ve owned this car for 17 years and have enjoyed driving it regularly. It runs and drives great. The chassis has never suffered any rust and has all original sheet metal and undercoating. The car has rare (for longhoods ) Electric windows and air conditioning.
Thanks again for checking out my latest 911.
Keep checking in for many more auctions to come. I will be selling over 40 vintage Porsches in the coming months.
