Up for auction is this 1973 Porsche 911E Coupe finished in Irish Green over a tan interior. Representing the last of the original F-Body Porsche 911s, this 1973 model carries its original mechanical fuel-injected 2.4L flat-six engine paired with a 5-speed 915 manual gearbox. It also came with factory optional Comfort Equipment as well as a heated rear window, wheel well moldings, and stabilizer bars front and rear. It was acquired by the current owner in 2011 and has been driven approximately 5k miles since while undergoing routine service and several noteworthy maintenance items. Accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this classic long-hood 911 is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Florida.
This Coupe sports a nonmetallic Irish Green finish. Among the most historic Porsche colors of all, Irish Green was offered on the very first 911s in 1964 and chosen to represent the one-millionth Porsche 911 produced in 2017. The car had come factory painted in Ivory (46) and was refinished in the current shade under prior ownership. Optional wheel well moldings came equipped from the factory along with 911S-style trim included with Comfort Equipment. The 15” Fuchs wheels feature a polished finish and were dressed in new Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S tires upon the owner’s purchase in 2011. Some minor imperfections are noted throughout the exterior including a small scratch below the rear model emblem, detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is trimmed in tan upholstery with matching carpets and a black upper dashboard. Deeply bolstered Sports Seats have been fitted along with a wood-rimmed Nardi three-spoke steering wheel. The Comfort Equipment option adds aluminum sill covers and 911S-type instrumentation. Other original options include a two-stage heated rear window, tinted windshield, loudspeaker, and noise suppression. An aftermarket Pioneer radio has been mounted in the dashboard.
The air-cooled 2.4L flat-six engine features Bosch mechanical fuel injection and drives the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. The stamping *6231950* matches the engine number listed on the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. Optional front and rear stabilizer bars were equipped from the factory and new Bilstein shocks were installed under the current ownership along with a new stainless steel Dansk sport muffler. Other items addressed over the past 5k miles include new spark plugs, valve adjustments, a new alternator, starter, brake master cylinder, wheel alignment, and routine oil changes. The cold start device has been disconnected from the fuel system and the seller notes the speed switch is inoperable.
This sale will include a toolkit, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean title. For any driver in search of a classic long-hood Porsche 911, this beautiful Irish Green 1973 example is not to be overlooked.

Thanks again for the comments, questions, and bids. The engine does not have oil fed tensioners. As for the engine we did a compression and leak down test today. Results are:
cyl 1-155, 2-160, 3-160, 4-155, 5-155, 6-155. Tests were done on a cold engine. Leak down results were between 4-7% for all cylinders. Bob

@carlissa thanks for the pictures of the trim. I am not an expert on sports seats, dont know distinguishing features. Does this car have CV oil fed chain tensioners?
Also, do you have any documentation on the engine condition, such as compression or leaskdown?
Teescott, I have included pictures of the seats and the trim around the wheels and doors. As for the seats, I believe they are real sport seats from Recaro for the LWB Porsche. The early seats had the moveable headrests that are on these seats. From the research I did in 1974 the Recaro seats had the headrests as part of the seat. Also, the recline and tilt buttons on both seats have the recaro name on the buttons. Picture 133 shows the button. Also, most of the Recaro look alikes did not have the tilt function that these seats have. For these reasons I think they are real and correct. If, however, you have some other method of validating their year and manufacturer, please let me know and I will be happy to check. Thanks, Bob

Is it possible for you to post some close up pictures of the anodized trim moulding around the whole car. The reason I am asking is because sometimes when a body shop repairs a car and is not careful they leave sandpaper Mark's on the trim, and they seem to have done that to the paint code plate, along with some poor taping around the foil stickers by the engine.

Are the sports seats aftermarket or correct Recaros for this year 911?
Thank you all for the bids and the kind comments. I have added some pictures of the underside of the car, the wheels, the smuggler box, and a scratch on the left rear quarter. A driving video will be posted today when I can figure out with the help of the PCM people how to get it off my phone and get it posted here.
I am biased toward '73Es, my favorite model. This 'E' photographs very well. Irish Green is a popular early 911 color and looks good on this example, ironically the original color, Ivory is one of the rarest Porsche colors applied by the factory in the early '70's. This color change to Irish Green pre-dates the current owner's possession of the vehicle. I second 9JuanJuan observations, although the car looks great overall, there are a number of 'nits' if you are looking to make it a perfectly original example. GLWTS!
Looks like a very nice car, I particularly like the color combination. However, I believe my definition of originality is different from a few who are highlighting how original the car is.
The Alpine stereo is an obvious one, along with the speakers in the doors.
The steering wheel, however nice, not original to the car.
The hood badge appears not be period correct (not orange bar).
Some others as well.
Any perspective buyers who are not aficionados, like I was not too long ago, nor am I now, should be aware of these little things if originality is what you are after.
All of these can be fixed of course, for a price.
Curious why there is a fog light switch on the dash but no lights pictured or shown on the COA.
Also no picture of the rear seats in the upright position?
I suggest a good look at this one, those wires hanging down from the dash + a speed switch not working = a least a couple weekends of straitening out.
If it otherwise drives well (cold start video would be nice) and the body is straight, you'll have a hard time wiping a big smile off your face.

Having had a few of these vintage (and still have 2) 911's from 911 S , E and T in my opinion, the 911E has always been my choice of the best all around Porsche early 911's !
The E has best usable torque !
When you drive a 911 E (especially the '70 &'71 E, with the sweet 2.2 Liter engine) the power and the way the engine pulls all the way to the red line is so "Elastic" that this feeling and feedback from the engine makes you wonder when does ever the pulling ever flatten .
Another notable characteristic of a 911 E is, that it does 0 to 60 better than the all mighty 911S which won't reward you until almost 5000 RPM .

I saw this car in person about two weeks ago. It is absolutely gorgeous and correct. The restoration quality and fit and finish looks top notch. As the owner of a ‘73 RS Tribute that is far from original, I really admire and respect the originality of this example. If I didn’t already have a garage full, I’d be bidding. No disappointments here. It will make someone very proud.
