Finished in Silver Metallic over black partial leather, this 1973 Porsche 911S Coupe was sold new by Kendon Porsche Audi of Wilmington, California, with optional Recaro Sports Seats, a manual antenna and noise suppression, electric sunroof, Koni shock absorbers, an auxiliary oil cooler, and tinted glass all around.  It remained with its original owner, a doctor in Hollywood, up until 1982 and spent most of its life between New Mexico and Georgia under the care of its third owner from 1984 to 2018.  It had undergone extensive service between 2003 and 2010 including new engine gaskets, seals, O-rings, brakes, a rebuild of the fuel injection system, and a complete repaint in its original color.  Since 2019, additional service and reconditioning has been carried out including Porsche Classic Technical inspection, while the car successfully completed the 2021 Tejas Turismo, Texas Hill Country Rally.  Equipped with its numbers matching drivetrain, this final-year long-hood 911S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas accompanied by documented provenance, the original window sticker, toolkit, and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

This Coupe is finished in Silver Metallic (936) and features a 911S front spoiler, optional sunroof, and original date-coded 15” Fuchs wheels.  The seller reports that all trim and glass were removed for a complete repaint of the car in its original color under prior ownership.  New rubber seals and moldings were fitted while the original Securit tinted glass was retained. Period-style fog lamps have been mounted to the horn grilles and the car received additional detailing and paint correction in Spring of 2019 along with a set of new Michelin 185/70 VR15 XWX tires.  Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery.

The black partial leather interior came factory equipped with a pair of optional Recaro Sports Seats along with a manual antenna and noise suppression.  The car received a completely overhauled and upgraded air-conditioning system in September of 2021 which retains the period control unit and vents for an original look.

This 911S carries its original 2.4L flat-six fuel-injected engine paired with a numbers-matching 5-speed manual gearbox, providing as much as 190 HP to the rear wheels.  Prior to 2010, the engine had been serviced with new exhaust valve covers, an oil sump gasket, valve cover gaskets, chain tensioner, air filter, fuel filter insert, CV joint boot, brake pads and rotors, engine seals, and a rebuild of the fuel injection system.  Additional service in the Spring of 2019 included a tune-up, oil sump plate, hot air tube, breather hose, spark plug set, hood struts, torsion cover plates, sway bar brackets, a front steering pan cover, and detailing of the undercarriage and engine compartment.  Engine compression test results during this time yielded 130-135 psi across all cylinders.  Routine scheduled service and inspection was last completed during the Winter of 2021.  A Porsche Classic Technical Inspection has also been recently obtained from Porsche North Houston and is available for reference along with service records and drivetrain stampings.

This sale will include an extensive collection of records and documentation, the original owner's manuals, toolkit, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean title.

Can you better describe the A/C work done in Sept 2021. You include a $4000 receipt from Custom Car Cool. Was this the total turn key for a complete installation starting with no prior equipment installed? Thanks!

  • garrege 2 yearsago

Small comment, the ad says those are the original date-coded wheels and that's not correct. This car should have flat sixes and those are 7x15 from a later car.

@DoubleD Hello, that is an old video from 2019. We have a current video in the works and will post it shortly. Stay tuned and thank you for your interest.

This car is a beauty and benefits from recent major service and tuning! More to come...

  • DoubleD (registered bidder) 2 years, 1 monthago

I see it (AC) in the car. The car looks fabulous. Was simply curious to how long ago the walk around and start up video was taken. Days, weeks, months?

I do not see the AC installed or the driving lights in the start-up video that is posted. How long ago was the video taken?
