Finished in Silver Metallic over a black vinyl and cloth interior, this 1973 Porsche 914 2.0 was acquired by the current owners about 7 years ago and has since been refinished, reupholstered, and upgraded including a custom 2.3-liter stroker engine. An excellent choice for any air-cooled driving enthusiast, this 914 is now being offered for auction out of California.
This 914 is finished in Silver Metallic with a matching removable hardtop. Equipment includes dual black mirrors, popup headlamps, chrome bumpers with integrated front fog lights, black front bumperettes, a chrome tailpipe, and a rear “PORSCHE” logo center reflector. The car is said to have been refinished in its original Silver Metallic color under the current ownership and the 15” Fuchs wheels were dressed in new Nitto NT01 tires in 2019.
The cabin has been reupholstered in new black vinyl with matching carpets and cloth inserts on the seats and door panels. Accessories include a Porsche-crested shift knob, a wood-rimmed three-spoke Personal steering wheel, an aftermarket radio, and a dash-mounted oil temperature gauge.
The air-cooled 2.0-liter flat-four engine is said to have been completely rebuilt and stroked out to a 2.3-liter displacement under current ownership. The engine is paired with dual carburetors, a custom polished exhaust, an aftermarket oil cooler, and a 5-speed manual transmission that drives the rear wheels.
This sale will include a spare tire and a clean title.

Its the last stretch to the finish line today! This lovely 914 has been a project of time and alot of money with effort to get here. The workmanship is outstanding I believe by the many great shops involved, FAT Performance for building an awesome 2258 cc engine with @ 155 HP @5000 RPM...go light up a 914/6 and she will surely surprise that owner! Fast car! Handles like a cat on the road. To Gameface Motors in Whittier for all the mechanical finish work, engine install, tuning, electrical, bits and pieces Sergio the owner corrected on the car. To the custom interior work by Felipe a talented upholsterer. This car has had tremendous effort by those involved as well as my son and friends to strip it and prep and metal work. The beautiful paint work by Guiermo. This car has meant alot to me and my son as we worked, we argued, we settled, we went the extra distance to finalize this sweet, very fast, amazing car!
Just the engine work, ceramic hesders etc is $16k plus. This cannot be replicated in today's pricing for under $30k! A built engine done right with a package to suite. I will miss this amazing member of my shrinking car collection. I hope the winning bidder today understands what a jewel he/she will own.

Is it difficult to put the heating system back together? I live in a Canada. May need defrost occasionally?
@jab7106 the rear window is not mobile, it is secured well.
One additional question
It is common for 914s to have the rear window loosen and become mobile
Can you just confirm that the window when pushed does not have any mobility

Carburetors are Weber, 44mm.
Not ceramic coated only color sanded then waxed once cured. We use waterless wash.
I believe 3 keys, two for ignitor and one for door locks.

What type of carburetors are on the engine?
Once the paint job was completed did you protect it with anything, ie ceramic coat or PPF or just old school wash/wax.
And will the sale include 2 keys?

@jab7106 The targa top fits very well, there is no noticeable gaps when attached. The records that are uploaded show the tires are from 2019, also the records show that is when a oil change happened. I am unsure if that is our most recent oil change. But since we have rebuilt the engine the car has between 1k-1.5k miles on it since. That is why tires are brand new.
Can the seller please comment on the removable targa top? Are there any gaps between door windows and front windshield?
Also, what are the date codes on the tires
When was the last routine maintenance/oil change?

@beesonjohn94 The only way to be sure is to pull the valance off.Sadly mud gets thrown up against that jacking point and cant be noticed from the outside. Best to replace the valance using screws as its rivited on..but worth doing!
@Manpot i have also noticed this since our ownership, but to our knowledge there is no rust inside of the jacking points. Also thank you for your compliments, it is appreciated.
There's a lot to like about this..its the way I like my Porsches..tastefully modified.One pic does bother me..#134. It looks like the jacking point has bent the outer valance which could indicate rust inside and the failure of the jacking point ( Something I know about personally!).I'd like to hear an explanation because this is such a nice car!
@Bruce914 that inner fender damage is due to A/C unit that was installed from the previous owner.
The right front inner fender looks a little beat up - any knowledge of an accident? Overall a nice looking car - wish they would have done the front pan and rear floor areas a little cleaner. Watching closely.

In 2016 we purchased the 914 running, driving, tags up to date, car came from Oregon.
The 914 was driven @ 2 weeks when oil leaking on the exhaust created smoke, then literally simultaneously a short happened at the AC blower. Yes the car was fitted with aftermarket AC. Then began our project to strip this car as a Father/Son project.
Upon further inspection, it was discovered there was 3 areas of the car that had rust issues, the battery box, rear trunk, and a small area of the passenger side floor board. Once we decided the electrical issues needed to be addressed we also decided to do the rust repair
For the rust repair we purchased replacement panels from a company that makes specific panel for the 914, and we cut and welded those in ourselves
However the electrical work we decided to have a local Porsche mechanic figure out the wiring and replace anything it needed, and to remove the aftermarket AC.
We pulled the factory 2.0 liter engine which was poorly treated by the previous repair people. We tore the entire engine apart to the case.
My Porsche mechanic recommended FAT Performance in Orange, CA to help to buld a decent engine.
Like all things that take a life of their own and thousands of dollars later, we now had a fire breathing 2.3 liter high performance stroker engine! Complete eith 911 oil cooler, poweder costed tin etc! FAT Performance all the way, lol!
We have the build sheet with shop dyno and completed demo at rest wheels. See attachment.
Once that all was completed the owner also decided to get the interior of the car professionally reuphostlered, carpetting, seats and the dashboard.
All dash gagess were removed and calibrated, added an oil temperature gage.
The car was then garaged for a number of years and had was driven less then 2000 miles.
We decided to get the car painted, during our ownership the car was white. However, when we got the car painted, we searched for the paint code of the car and had the car resprayed to match the original color.
We have replaced the tires recently. All five have 5 bolt Fuch wheels.
The rain trough and drain system is new. We did not restore the window washer system.
Electrically everything works except the heater blower is not functional. Again the AC system was removed condenser opening was sealed and welded shut with new metal. Blower removed. We have those parts for the winning bidder.
I an sure a few things I have forgotten, overall the car is very fast, handles extremely well and is a joy to drive.
Reason we are selling is due to my recent back surgery and inability to enjoy this fun car.
