This 1973 example comes finished in Ravenna Green over a brown vinyl interior and is equipped with a 1.7-liter flat-four-cylinder engine paired with a 5-speed manual transaxle. Features include a Targa top, 15” Riviera-style wheels, a Momo Veloce steering wheel, an upgraded radio head unit, and more. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Rhode Island while showing approximately 71k miles on the odometer.

This 914 comes finished in Ravenna Green with black vinyl sail panels and a removable Targa top. The seller believes that the car was completely refinished under a previous owner, and notes that the finish shows imperfections and minor surface rust. Additional images can be found in the gallery. Details include rubber bumpers, pop-up headlights, dual side mirrors, front fog lights, and a set of 15” Riviera-style wheels. The wheels come dressed in a set of Yokohama tires from 2005.

Inside, the floors are lined with brown carpeting, while the seats and door panels are upholstered in brown vinyl. Features include roll-up windows, a Momo Veloce steering wheel, a locking glove box, VDO instrumentation, a heater, a Porsche crested shift knob, and an upgraded radio head unit. The seller confirms that all gauges, electronics, and accessories remain functional.

Power comes from a 1.7-liter flat-four-cylinder engine which drives the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual transaxle.

This sale will include a registration certificate supplied by the State of Rhode Island Department of Motor Vehicles.

We've had a question on the color. The frunk, trunk and engine compartment all confirm that this car carries its' original color; rare Ravenna Green

    1973 Porsche 914 Bidders
Here are excerpts from the Hemmings Website article on the Porsche 914.
How often does the everyman get a chance to own a truly exotic, mid-engine sports car at a still affordable price? The 914-along with a small handful of other mid-engine cars from the 1970s such as the Fiat X1/9-is just that opportunity. 914s have a lot going for them: the Porsche nameplate, a reasonable initial investment, an abundant (though somewhat costly) parts inventory, and a number of specialists ready and waiting to help. Now is the time to get in and enjoy one of these entry-level exotic cars.
1973 ushered in a new "side-shift" shift mechanism that worked much better than the early "tail-shift" transmissions.
1974 marked the debut for the 1.8-liter engine. Despite its slightly larger displacement, the 1.8-liter suffered a decrease of four horsepower from the 1.7-liter, thanks to lower-compression pistons. It was equipped with Bosch's L-Jetronic fuel-injection system, which was less durable and reliable than the D-Jetronic on the 1.7- and 2.0-liter cars.
The hot setup among 914 collectors appears to be the well-equipped, better-shifting 1973 model

    @jagTampa83

The owner just sent over some receipt photos but the quality is too poor to post. He's an old school guy. We'll see if we can get the originals so we can reshoot and post them. He's a DIY guy and did his own oil and routine services. We do know the injectors were replaced during his ownership and the car runs very well.

We'd really like to encourage interested bidders to use the Contact Seller tab and get in touch with us live. We can offer live Facetime inspections or make our facility (lift and tools) available for pre-purchase inspections. All in all it's a solid car (no significant rust) with a very nice interior, the paint is better than average and it has no mechanical or electrical needs. Watch the drive video and you'll see that it runs as well as it looks.

I see you gave a 5 number plate nice , who or where in RI worked or serviced this Porsche where in N Kingstown do you live

    Azguy238

We'll add some engine photos this weekend. And yes, it is fuel injected and they were recently serviced. The Seller is forwarding service records from the past 5-6 of ownership and we'll post them when come in.

The car runs very well as evidenced by the drive video. Between the driver and camera guy, the car had 400+ lbs of passengers and still accelerated quickly and smoothly.

  • Azguy238 (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@QMSSRI...please show some pictures of the engine compartment. Is it still running original Fuel Injection or switched to carbs?

  • QMSRI (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago
