Available for auction is this 1974 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 Roadster finished in British Racing Green over a tan leather interior along with a black dash, center console, and convertible soft top. Lauded by Enzo Ferrari as “the most beautiful car ever made,” the E-Type was originally adapted from the D-Type race cars and features unitary construction, disc brakes, and independent front and rear suspension. As a Series 3, this example is the only E-Type to be powered by a Le Mans-derived V12, which is mated to a desirable 4-speed manual transmission. Said to have undergone a previous restoration, this E-Type is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Quebec showing approximately 44k miles on the odometer.

This Jaguar is finished in British Racing Green with a new black convertible soft top and rides on standard stamped-steel 15” wheels dressed in Bridgestone Insignia SE200 tires. Due to the larger V12 engine, the Series 3 suspension was redesigned and resulted in a wider track with flared wheel arches for the body. Additionally, the Series 3 comes only as a long-wheelbase and sports an enlarged cross-slatted front grille, quad exhaust tips, and a distinguishing V12 badge on the rear. The seller notes the exterior has been refinished detailed images are provided in the gallery.

Inside, the cabin is appointed in tan leather with an accenting black dash and center console. Accessories include a leather-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, roll-up windows, a locking glove box, and lap belts. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.

This E-Type is equipped with a quadruple-carburated 5.3-liter V12 engine that was originally developed for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, sending power to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes with vented rotors at the front. This E-Type is said to have undergone regular maintenance and there are no outstanding service items reported at this time.

This sale will include a clean title.

@Dwhite thanks to chime-in. PcarMarket asked me to Go to the car yesterday for vertical footage to put on Instagram. I did. Lightning Like speed. I had You in mind there, and I took many extra pictures of the undercarriage. In the Gallery now. No rust. No leak. This one will not bite You. But will be a shining star, northern Star, in your or any stable to enjoy for another 50 years. Select which kid or grand-kid will have it one day. Asset in a balance sheet material here. Pure Bliss. Keep note absolutely No picture can do justice to the car live.

The thing You might Do: offer her a dry-ice service, and a shampoo or whatever You call that, so the undercarriage and the engine bay can shine like a Diamond.

This Jaguar will do what Jaguar Do in the Jungle as Predator: MO: Modus Opedandi: Charge the Pray and go crack the Head first, using the speed of invisibility. To Enjoy a nice Lunch to share and distribute to OffSprings… Enjoy each day…

    …And live with Passion

Having owned a pristine series 1 OTS and looking closely at the few pictures of the underside, this car has borh rust and oil leaks. Paint on top looks good and interior looks okay, but that's not where these cars bite you. The seller really needs many more pictures of the underside to get a true condition of this car.

@AlexBert @AlexBert: Thanks. I am very familiar with Plattsburgh as my undergraduate degree is from UVM. In the 70’s, we used to drive across the lake on the ice from Burlington to Plattsburgh. If I win, the car will be headed to my summer home on Cape Cod.

@BarryLe You have Good Eyes.. This XKE looks and is a fairly nice car. Paint is good, interior as well. True: that the Engine bay could be polished to a brilliant shine, like a spanking new Swiss Watch. Spending the money required to take it to the next level is a sound idea that makes sense; will be capital well invested. ( You saw the $338,000…. For #1 Concours)

AlexBert: Thank you for your quick response. For everyone’s benefit, can you estimate the cost to import this vehicle to the US?

  • AlexBert (seller) 1 year, 4 monthsago

@BarryLe I know the history of the last 25 years of THIS e-type. Quite easy. Same owner the Last 25 years; Him having an extensive collection of pristine vintage cars; collection huge enough to have a Full time trusted mechanic on his payroll, looking on each car Like white on Rice. No Service records, because of that. Ill seek the infos, and Winner of this lot will probably have the complete chain of ownership from 1974. Not impossible.

No mechanical or cosmetic issues. Shipping
Many cars to the US, constantly. I Will Assist, by providing All the right ressources for a seamless and Perfect transaction From Start to Finish. Including Departure Video on the Ramp. Any other questions: please : Launch them All.

You will not see any advertisements prior PcarMarket. First time UEIS23745 is Offered, to the Very Best Audience.

  • BarryLe (registered bidder) 1 year, 4 monthsago

I owned the twin to this car in the early 2000’s; Regency red with a biscuit interior and 20,000:one owner miles. This XKE looks like a fairly nice car. It is hard to tell from the glossy pictures how good the paint actually is. The interior looks good. The engine compartment looks complete but it needs some restoration work to make it really nice. This is not a concours XKE but a nice driver. If I win the auction, I will definitely be spending the money required to take it to the next level.

  • BarryLe (registered bidder) 1 year, 4 monthsago

AlexBert: What do you know about this car’s history? Are there any service records coming with the car? Are there any mechanical or cosmetic issues with the car currently? What will it take to transport this car back to the US? Please advise.

I would presume this car began its life in the US?

Detailed photos of the underneath, on a lift, seem mandatory given the cars location
