Up for auction is this custom RSR-inspired 1974 Porsche 911 finished in Arrow Blue.  Beginning life as a 1974 Targa, this 911 was eventually rebuilt as an RSR track car by a Porsche enthusiast between 2014-2015 with a complete body-off restoration along with the installation of an integrated roll cage, 915 5-speed transmission, 993 “Big Red” Brembo brakes, and a 3.6L engine.  Acquired by the current owner from PCARMARKET in 2019, this 911 has since been brought to the specialists at Accumoto for a complete engine-out service along with custom styling modifications, a custom exhaust system, and new interior details.  With over $30k invested in recent service and upgrades, this outstanding 1974 911 RSR-inspired outlaw is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Colorado.

During the initial RSR-style restoration, this 911 Targa was fitted with new steel fender flares as well as a complete roof section and custom fiberglass front and rear bumpers before the car was finished in the classic Porsche color of Arrow Blue.  Since acquiring the car in 2019, the seller has commissioned extensive custom work through Accumoto including the installation of custom grilles, door handles, and Nine-Eleven projector headlights.  The car also received a full paint correction along with an application of clear protective film over the entire front end, additional images are provided in the photo gallery.  The car rides on 3-piece Fuchs-style 16" wheels finished in black with BF Goodrich g-Force Sport tires. These wheels were custom-made by Accumoto to the owner's personal specifications.

The cabin features a frame-integrated roll cage, black leather bucket seats, RS-style door panels, Rennline pedals, a Wevo shifter, MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, Rennline billet aluminum window crank handles, and a custom dashboard created by Accumoto including engraved control knobs, a painted instrument surround, and dual Hanhart rally timers. Custom-made CarBone Liveries houndstooth floormats have been installed over Rennline aluminum track mats. Custom leather padding has also been added throughout the roll cage and a heater has been recently installed for driver comfort.

This 911 has been equipped with a 3.6L flat-six engine sourced from a Porsche 993 Carrera.  The rear wheels are driven through a 915 5-speed manual gearbox with a lightweight Sachs clutch, Wevo shifter gate, and a limited-slip differential.  Other upgrades include a carbon fiber heater duct, Bilstein sport shocks, larger torsion and anti-roll bars, Turbo tie rods, Rennline trailing arms, monoball joints, and Porsche 993 “Big Red” Brembo brakes.  During the car’s time at Accumoto, a custom center-exit exhaust system was fabricated and a full engine-out service was performed including replacements of all gaskets, fuel lines, and ignition components.

This sale will include a clean title.  A true no-expense-spared build, this 3.6L 1974 911 outlaw offers the performance to match its striking appearance.  Do not miss your chance to become the next lucky owner.

    @Rogerws That is correct

  • Rogerws (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

Verifying that this is a 915 gearbox, correct ?

  • coloradosportsdoc (seller) 2 years, 8 monthsago

@Rhstevenson the entire body was bead blasted off frame. Rears are aBF Goodrich G-force Sport Comp 2 255/50 ZR16. Fronts are 225/50 ZR16. All four have most of the tread life left. The confusion may be that I change the wheels when I purchase the car. The specs for how these wheels were constructed and dimensions are on the Accumoto Receipts

  • coloradosportsdoc (seller) 2 years, 8 monthsago

@Accumoto Thank you for chiming in mark. You, Will in the whole Accu Moto team were amazing! Very easy to work with and obviously experts at the craft of your cool Porsches

  • Accumoto (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

This car is an exceptional value in the grand scheme of things. @coloradosportsdoc spent $ in the critical areas to mechanically sort and correct issues, in addition to the ascetic improvements. We're pleased to see the car being represented here for exactly what it is. A wide G-body 911 that looks great, feels better and makes all the right noises. Cool project!

  • Rhstevenson (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

The specification for the front and rear tires and the pictures shown are different ? What size and what tires are on the car? Also was the whole body bead blasted or just the top targa conversion?

  • greateye (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

Think of it as $100,000 for two cool stop watches and the car comes along for free. What a glorious thing! Wow!! GLWTA

  • coloradosportsdoc (seller) 2 years, 8 monthsago

@Arffbubba I remember this topic being covered when I bought it, but I cannot find documents. However, as far as I remember the engine was rebuilt on installing and has had regular service as per records from original builder. Once I received car, I shipped to Accumoto in Wisconsin. They literally went through car with fine tooth comb and part of that was a leak down test and it looked great. They are trying to find those records but you can see the details of everything they did in the receipts. I have put 1800 miles on car since I purchased it with most of that after Accumoto “refined it”.

  • coloradosportsdoc (seller) 2 years, 8 monthsago

@analogmike They are made by Accumoto. They are more comfortable than my 18 ways!!

@Mrosilio Detailed invoices were given to PCARMARKET ,so can you guys please post. Heater blower is at vents by windshield. There are also ducts at foot wells. Fan switch is on dash next to lights. Heater control is still by hand brake.

  • Arffbubba (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

Bravo…. Can you speak to miles on donor motor? Or was the engine rebuilt at time of transplant.. thanks in advance.

  • Mrosilio (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

    Awesome.
Could you post invoices for all the work that was done? Also where are the heater controls and where does it blow out of?

    Thanks

Hello fellow automobile enthusiast and welcome to my auction. I am here to answer any questions that you may have about this car. I love Porsche’s and have had the privilege of owning more than my share! I am not a collector, I enjoy buying them, making them my own, enjoying them for a while then trying something new. Good luck with bidding and don’t hesitate to shoot over questions.
