Finished in Silver Metallic over a Midnight interior, this Canadian-market 1974 Porsche 911 Coupe is said to have been kept in storage for 38 years before it was purchased by the seller from its original owner in 2018. The car underwent a subsequent multi-year bare-metal rotisserie restoration that was completed in 2024. It was refinished in its original color and features a rebuilt 2.7-liter flat-six engine and 5-speed manual gearbox, overhauled brakes and suspension, Bilstein dampers, hand-polished mechanical components, a protective underbody coating, new interior upholstery, gold-finished door sills, bi-xenon projector headlights, and 15” cookie-cutter alloy wheels. Showing approximately 32k miles on the odometer, this 911 is now being offered for auction out of Alberta, Canada.
During the bare-metal rotisserie restoration, the door skins were replaced and rust repair was performed on the passenger-side rear quarter panel. The exterior was refinished in its original color in 2022 and has been modified with modern bi-xenon projector headlights. Equipment includes bright trim and headlamp rings, a driver’s side mirror, slim RoW-spec bumperettes, a 2.7 decklid grille badge, a polished tailpipe, red-finished brake calipers, and silver 15” cookie cutter alloy wheels mounted with 205/60 Yokohama Radial 388 tires. The seller notes the underbody and wheel wells are coated with a protective bedliner material and the suspension components, steering rack, and drivetrain cases have been hand-polished.
The cabin was stripped and protected with a bedliner coating before being redone with new black carpets and Midnight leatherette upholstery covering the seats and door panels. Accessories include a black leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, hand-crank windows, a heater, gold-finished door sill plates, analog VDO instrumentation, and a retro-style Bluetooth stereo.
Rated at 143 HP and 168 lb.-ft of torque, the air-cooled 2.7-liter flat-six engine features Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. The engine has been rebuilt, hand-polished, and fitted with cadmium-plated hardware, a bronze-finished airbox cover, and SSI heat exchangers. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed manual transaxle that has also been rebuilt and polished. The brakes and suspension were overhauled including the installation of new Bilstein dampers. Images of the restoration process are provided in the gallery. The seller adds that the car is not equipped with a catalytic converter and may not meet emissions standards in some areas.
This sale will include an owner’s manual, restoration documents, a Porsche Production Specifications Certificate, and a registration.

@911reasons “I’m glad you’re thorough and doing your due diligence. The shop can certainly confirm the quality of the work performed, and I’m happy to address any further questions you might have. Let me know how else I can assist!”
I just do not understand why they were not included with all the other photos if the work was done. These are potentially engine and transmission out repairs.
@911reasons “Thank you for your question! I have comprehensive service records and receipts documenting the repairs, including those addressing the oil leaks. If needed, I can share these directly with the winning bidder after the auction or provide more details upon request.”
Bid in the amount of $35,500
Do you have receipts or documentation on the oil leak repairs? It is not in the current photo gallery.
This car is worth north of $100,000 given the work that was put into it. I hope the seller gets it.
Thank you for your questions! The restoration process addressed the timing chain cover and crankshaft seal leaks, and they have been fixed. The transmission was also inspected, and any necessary seals were addressed during the process.
As for the shifter, it has been carefully adjusted for smooth operation, ensuring an enjoyable driving experience. If you have any additional concerns or need more details, feel free to ask. I’m happy to provide as much information as possible.”
Have the oil leaks on the engine and transmission been fixed? Mention of leaks from timing chain covers, crankshaft seal and transmission in service reports. Also has the shifter be fixed or adjusted?
Thank you all for the incredible interest and support for this beautiful Porsche 911! There’s less than 2 hours left in the auction—don’t miss the chance to own this meticulously restored piece of automotive history. I’m here to answer any last-minute questions, so feel free to reach out!”
@DOGGERJK Thank you for the kind words and enthusiasm! Keeping this beauty in Canada would be fantastic, and BC sounds like a great home for it. With family in St. Albert, those Alberta road trips are definitely calling—this car was made for scenic drives like that. Best of luck with your bid, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
@babak200080 Bidding in hopes of keeping this example in Canada! Specifically, BC! We do have family in StAlbert though, so some AB road trips are def on the agenda

@JarrodLovesCars You’re absolutely right—being a 1974 model, the smog exemption is a big advantage in California! I completely understand that shipping can add to the overall cost. If it helps, I’d be happy to assist in coordinating shipping or provide recommendations to make it as seamless and cost-effective as possible.
Let me know if you’d like to discuss further!
@S.tielens You’re correct that California has some additional steps for importing vehicles, but the 1974 exemption from smog and most DOT requirements makes this a lot easier than newer cars. I’ve worked to make this process as smooth as possible for potential buyers.
Regarding the value, I believe the craftsmanship and condition of this car—combined with its low mileage—place it at the higher end of the market. Cars of this caliber typically command $85K–$100K regardless of their origin, but I certainly respect differing opinions.
@JarrodLovesCars it’s a lot more than a Smog certificate. California needs a lot of other things. D.O.T certified. California highway patrol inspection. California Vehicle Verification and more when coming in from another country. BUT, coming in from another State makes it a lot easier. It’s my opinion that this beautiful Gem with a Canada Title is worth about $50K. With a US Title about $60 to $70 K and with a California Title $80 to $100k
@S.tielens luckily being a 1974 it does not have to pass smog here in California. It's just the major cost of shipping it here that is the sticking point for me.
wow. just wow
hope this gets the money it deserves

@JChan Thank you for your interest! The process to register the car in New Jersey is straightforward. Since this is a classic car, you’ll need:
1. The car’s title, which I’ll provide upon sale.
2. A bill of sale, which I can prepare for you.
3. To complete the necessary forms at your local NJ DMV.
If you have specific questions about the process, I recommend contacting the NJ DMV directly to ensure all bases are covered. Let me know if I can assist further!
If I had but one wish in life, it would be that this car has a California Title.
What is the process to register this car in NJ?
@raymondz993 Your enthusiasm is contagious! I can just picture the car cruising through those Napa backroads—what a perfect setting for a Porsche like this. If your friend does end up winning the bid, I’d love to know it’s in good hands and nearby for you to enjoy those spins together.
Fingers crossed on your end, and I’ll be over here cheering for a great outcome. Let’s see where this exciting journey takes us!
Now he knows. I await his response. I'd be happy knowing that my friend and neighbor won the bid. This way I can go for a spin here in wine country in the Napa, California backroads. Yeeeeee!
...fingers crossed, pupils dilated, adrenaline pumping and breathing heavy with anticipation. Let's go!!!
Your message gave me a good laugh—thank you for that! I can imagine the tough decision you’re grappling with, but I’ll say this: adding another Porsche to your impressive garage certainly wouldn’t be a bad idea!
I appreciate you sharing the car with your friend. While the Taycan is an incredible machine, you’re absolutely right—it’s a whole different league from the air-cooled classics. If your friend has any questions or wants more details, I’d be happy to help.
Good luck with your decision (and staying out of trouble at home)! Either way, I’m honored that my Porsche has caught your eye.
Well, its 2 days and 21 hours left for this auction and my brain is edging me to push a button, but I don't want to end up in divorce court after 39 years of marriage for flirting with another sexy and gorgeous girl named, Porsche. LOL!!! I'm genuinely having a difficult time. ;-( I can see it now inside my 4-car garage along side my 911S and 993 Carrera-2. ...i have a good idea. I'm going to show this Porsche to a friend that desired an air-cooled. He does drive an electric Taycan, but that technically doesn't count in the "Porsche Air-Cooled" world. I'm calling him now...
@raymondz993 Thank you so much for sharing your story and for the kind words about my Porsche. It’s amazing how these cars can create such deep memories and connections, and your experiences really highlight what makes the air-cooled 911 so special.
I love hearing about your history with the Minerva Blue ’74 911 and can completely understand how it left such an impression. It sounds like you’ve had an incredible journey with Porsches over the years!
It’s those unforgettable moments—the sound of the flat-six engine, the feel of shifting through the 915 gearbox, and the sheer joy of driving—that inspired me to restore this car to its full potential. Whoever ends up with it will undoubtedly create their own memories and fall in love with it, just like you did back in the day.
Thank you again for your message and for your enthusiasm. If you decide to take a closer look at your accounts, I’d be happy to answer any questions you have about the car.
Heck, I'm going to go over my bank accounts and then tick off my wife. I'm feeling greedy right now. LOL!!! I've owned up to four 911's at one-time in my life. I'm now 64 years of age and still feel like the young man I was when I bought my 1st one at age 28. Yes, I paid $8,500 for it in June 1988 when I pivoted from a Corvette deal that fell through. Anyway, I got the fever once I started up that 2.7 liter engine that reverberated thru my soul, plus the unmatched air-cooled sound when going thru the 915 gears up to 5-speed still brings a teeth bearing smile to my face.
@babak200080 Yes. No worries. My former '74 911 was Minerva Blue down to the same cookie cutter wheels like yours. A long time childhood friend harassed me almost into a coma to sell it to him and I finally gave in after he offered me way more than the market price back then in 1994. Again, if I was in the market I would totally go ballistic trying to get this magnificent restored beauty. I'm highly confident that whoever wins the bid will enjoy this Porsche 911 to the max. I'm so triggered with jealously! ...I really am. :-)

@raymondz993 Thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt message. It’s truly rewarding to hear from someone with such a deep appreciation for air-cooled 911s, especially given your extensive history with these incredible cars. The connection you have with your first 1974 911 Coupe makes your words even more meaningful to me.
I’m glad you love the restoration and the color—it was a labor of love to bring this car back to life, and it’s wonderful to see it resonate with enthusiasts like yourself. Your current collection sounds fantastic, and it’s always inspiring to hear about others’ journeys with these timeless machines.
Thank you again for your thoughtful note, and I truly appreciate your support and encouragement!
I'm powerfully impressed with this beauty that is nostalgic for me. Wow!!! I've owned over 20 Air-Cooled Porsche 911's since 1988. The very 1st Porsche I bought was a 1974 2.7L 911 Coupe and this one will always be special in my heart. This is stunning!!! This one is an incredible example of a restored air-cooled Flat-6 naturally aspirated machine. I love the delicious color as well. I now own a backdated 1975 911S and a '96 Carrera-2 Coupe. I hope you get more than you're expecting for this well maintained beautifully restored rare "German Dream Machine."
What a beauty! Very nicely done restoration. Wishing you luck.
@Rcars10 “Thank you so much for your kind words! A lot of care and attention to detail went into this restoration, especially the hand-polished engine components, which truly make it stand out. I’m thrilled that you appreciate the craftsmanship—it’s a special car that I’m proud to showcase. Let me know if you have any questions or if there’s anything specific you’d like to know about the build!”
This craftsmanship on this build is truly a work of art - the polish work is stunning and really sets this apart…

@RsGT3 @RsGT3! I’d be happy to arrange an in-person viewing for serious buyers. The car is located in Edmonton Please send me a message through the auction platform, and we can coordinate a time that works for both of us. Thank you for your interest!”
@RsGT3Absolutely! I’d be happy to arrange an in-person viewing for serious buyers. The car is located in Edmonton Please send me a message through the auction platform, and we can coordinate a time that works for both of us. Thank you for your interest!”
Would it be possible to view the car in person?
That was not insane number for a full restoration. If sold at that price it would’ve been a phenomenal buy.
Bid in the amount of $500
Thank you for your comment! While the previous auction on BaT received significant interest, including strong bids and over 16,000 views, the reserve was not met at that time. I appreciate the enthusiasm and engagement here on PCarMarket, and I’m confident this incredible 1974 Porsche 911 will find its rightful new owner. If you have any questions about the car or its restoration, feel free to ask!”
Just bid to an insane number on BAT. No idea what the seller thinks is going to happen here. LoL
Welcome to the auction for my beautifully restored 1974 Porsche 911!
This car has undergone an extensive restoration with over $$$$ invested, including hand-polished engine components and a complete interior refresh. With only 32,000 miles since the restoration, it’s a stunning example of a classic 911.
I’ll be here throughout the auction to answer any questions and provide additional details as needed. Please feel free to ask anything about the car’s history, restoration process, or performance. Thank you for your interest, and I look forward to seeing where this incredible Porsche finds its next home!”
