Factory Finished in Chrome Yellow (L13M) over black vinyl, this 914 is equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox paired with a fuel-injected 1.8-liter engine. Cared for by one family and garage-stored since new, this 1974 example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Washington.

This 1974 example was ordered in Chrome Yellow (L13M). Exterior features include a removable black roof panel, a chrome side mirror, a black vinyl upholstered roll bar with chrome-plated trim strips, Porsche lettering across the mid-engine ventilation grille, black bumperettes, flip-up headlights, and a single exhaust outlet. A set of 15” wheels have been mounted with Centred tires from 2008. The seller notes the rockers were previously refinished and a rear trailer hitch slightly backed into the hood, which resulted in the panel being refinished by a local specialist, Rocky Jennings. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin presents black vinyl upholstery which spans the seats door panels, and dashboard. Equipment includes a four-spoke steering wheel, VDO instrumentation, climate control, roll-up windows, and Coco floor mats. The seller notes the tachometer and odometer are currently inoperable. All other accessories are reported to be working properly, although the seller recommends some refurbishing to the air conditioning system.

Powered by a mid-mounted, air-cooled, and fuel-injected 1.8-liter flat-four engine, this 914 offers up to 76 HP and 100 lb.-ft of torque at the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox. Stopping power is provided by standard four-wheel disc brakes. The seller adds that this example has been routinely maintained since new by a local specialist by the name of Rocky Jennings. An oil cooler replacement is recommended, and the seller notes a slight oil leak.

This sale will include a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “This 914 is in super shape. It’s been a part of my family since my parents ordered it new. Rocky Jennings has worked on it since new, and it has always been garage-stored. It has been mostly driven just to the nearby golf club and back, with the occasional trip to Nevada. It deserves the love and care my family has given it!”

I looked at this car a few months ago and offered five figures for it. Lots to like, especially the body and originality. The car drove well and shifted much better than most ( have owned many 914’s) perplexed as to why seller not more forthcoming about the car’s shortcomings. Buyers can take the bad news. It’s possible that seller has had repairs made since I saw the car… when I put it up on ramps, saw active leaks at transaxle and motor. Oil cooler likely largest source. Metal near AC compressor was clearanced in very amateur way. Dealer that did this should be ashamed. Clutch on car very thin. Engine does smoke out tailpipe once warm. Rest is great news on the car. The above issues and AC install (intrusions in frunk) kept me from offering more. Great car, but expect to spend some money.

Hi, great looking car in the best color. it’s my understanding that most, if not all of the Air conditioning was dealer installed. Often the engine bay was “clearanced” to make room for the compressor. Can you show this area with better photographs? Only other questions would be. 1. Does the engine smoke? 2. Motor looks wet, are there leaks at engine or transaxle? 3. How is the clutch?
    Thanks in advance
