Up for auction is this 1974 Porsche 914 2.0 finished in Saturn Yellow over a black leatherette interior. Purchased new by its lifelong owner upon graduation from law school, this 914 has been cherished and carefully maintained throughout the years with some considerable recent service items addressed including a new clutch, flywheel, rear main seal, and shock absorbers.  The car rides on newly refinished Fuchs wheels and features the larger 2.0L flat-four engine as well as the factory Appearance Group option.  This one-owner 914 is now being offered for the first time by its seller out of North Dakota while showing just over 78k miles on the 5-digit odometer.

This 914 was previously refinished in its factory specified color of Saturn Yellow (L13M), a shade which was offered exclusively on the 914 for 1972, 1973, and 1975.  The body is reported to be in good structural condition while retaining the original windshield and exterior trim.  A small touched-up chip has been noted on the passenger side door, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery.  The optional Appearance Group includes dual-tone horns and integrated front fog lights.  This 914 rides on polished 15"  factory “Baby Fuchs” wheels which have been recently refinished and dressed in new Federal tires.

The black leatherette interior remains very nicely presented while retaining the personalized dealer-installed plaque reading the name of the original owner.  Special Appearance Group features include a center armrest with a storage compartment, a leather-covered steering wheel, and a center console with an analog clock and additional gauges for voltage and oil temperature.  The original Sapphire XXII radio remains in place and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be working properly.

Approximately 95 HP is derived from an air-cooled 2.0L flat-four fuel-injected engine that drives the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox.  Recent service items are said to include a new clutch, flywheel, throw-out bearing, rear main seal, tie rods, and shock absorbers. Images of the undercarriage are provided in the photo gallery.

This sale will include a spare tire and a clean title.  As the market for the Porsche 914 continues to climb, well-presented examples such as these are becoming increasingly sought after, do not let this opportunity pass you by.

$22k, is that it? Y'all let me know when I can jump in and steal it from everybody. Just kidding but feel free tho. This car is a beauty, looks to be mostly all original, especially the stuff that counts. A '73 went for $40k a week or so back that was similar to this car, yellow and mostly if not all original with a little lower mileage, but you want one that has been driven and taken care of properly, at nearly 50 years old it will have some miles, or should if it doesn't, and you get brand new tires to drive it away. The one-owner seller has done a fantastic job of representing this car as well as possible, remember he is lawyer, not a used car salesman. He answered my questions promptly and honestly, I appreciate that @Mb912e. Good Luck everyone! See ya at the finish line!

@davethewave911 your direct message went into junk mail, so I responded as soon as I became aware of it. I worked with PCAR Market to upload the documents and photos you requested in addition to a photo of the battery tray. We also confirmed the driving video is on the website. Thanks, Mark

I have direct mailed this seller with several very important questions about his car, only to get NO reply back. I guess I will ask in the public forum, and hope to get a general reply.....Do you have all the point of sale documents since you are the original buyer? do you have all the original manuals, keys, etc? Since their is no mention of this is the narrative, I thought it to be of significance to go with the description....thank you.

@MCShack Thank you for that info and it surely is a very nice 914 that is collector quality !

From the Chassis Code 3719510 we know this car was built during the 37th (37) week of the year on the first (1) day of the week which is Monday. The 95 indicates it was made at the Karmann Plant in Osnabrück, Germany and was the 10th (10) car made that day. So this car's birthday was September 9, 1973, making it an early '74 model which is a good thing. I love this car more every time I look at it. GLWA !!

@Mb912e Perfect! But I was only joking, it was about the only flaw I could find with the car.

Did you happen to see the direct message that I sent to you? No need to discuss any of it here, just wanted you to know I sent a message to "Contact Seller".

    Thanks and GLWA.

@MCShack absolutely I left it untouched so you could see that the battery tray is solid ! It needs clean up as they do. The floor pan and Jack points are solid as photos show

WoW! Very nice indeed and a one-owner, original miles, are you kidding me? Gonna need to address that "Hell Hole" area and battery box soon. Also need to fix that black plastic drain tube that is broken near the battery, LOL. What a great car and great pics showing few minor little flaws you can find on this beauty. Only thing this car really needs is to be driven. WoW!
